~Akira's POV~ (Age 7)

'Where am I?'

I walked around wondering how long has it been since I had been kicked out of the orphanage.

Maybe a week, two weeks tops.

I wasn't a bad child, I was just hated by everyone there. The kids always found a way to get me in trouble.

They were really fond of getting me in trouble.

This gave me a bad reputation with the adults. So they kicked me out but that was wrong, I ran away.

How I landed at the orphanage is a different story.

I was 3 when my dad died in a car crash, after that my mom started to drink massive amounts of liquor.

Naturally, her being drunk made her do things she will regret.

But she never hurt me besides that one time when I walked into that one . . . Let's not talk about it.

She cried herself to sleep every day.

I was forced to grow up quickly, not that I complained, and took care of my mom by cooking, burning myself a few times, and cleaning the house.

She never bought me anything but I didn't care. I just wanted to help her.

I took great care of her . . . until she took me to the orphanage.

I can clearly remember the day she took me to the orphanage.

*flashback (age 5)*

-Slam!-

The door was thrown open, the hinges threatening to come off.

I jumped in surprise.

It was my mom.

"Mom! You're home! Would you like something to eat?"

She just stared at me.

"Here."

She shoved a box and a bag roughly into my arms.

I looked into the box and found two slices of cake.

It was red velvet and chocolate, my two favorites.

The bag was half full with candy of all sorts.

This was strange for her to give me candy.

I just stared at the items she gave me.

"Well . . . aren't you going to eat it?"

I just nodded and slowly began to eat the cake slices.

When I was done I turned to my mother only to find her drinking again.

-sigh-

Of course she would drink.

She stood up after she has finished the bottle.

"Get up and let's go."

"Where are we going?"

"Somewhere."
