(Child)
"May I use this for the whole day?"
Yes, You may.
(Child)
"May I borrow all your time today?"
Yes, You may.
(Child)
"May I ask why you push me away?"
Yes. You may.
(Child)
"May I ask why you are the way you are?"
Yes, ......You may.
(Child)
"May I ask how old you are?"
Yes, You may. I'm (older than you) years old.
(Child)
"Then May I ask for your permission to get this?"
No, You may not. That answer is beyond my authority over you.
Ask your mother I say.
"Mother, May I Have This With All Due Respects?"
"Yes, You may."

Poem Explanation: Some people will never be seen as grown ups or peers that deserve to be respected, especially by younger children or siblings. They only consider you an adult when you have your license, own house, your married, etc.... Until then, they don't feel the need to respect you. Sometimes it could just be the way you look or the manner you speak to people in that doesn't make you come off as much of a threat. If you raise your voice, your no long nice but considered mean by them.
Therefore, some of us will never be seen as a grown up in their eyes.
