(A/N:I'm new to writing fan-fic so please don't make fun of me for mistakes or anything of the sort. I will take constructive criticism. I hope you enjoy reading! Small T.W mention of suicide)

It's been almost 8 years since I "woke up", and I still remember that day.

I remember waking up, sweating. I looked around and panicked, I didn't know where I was. The heat was the second thing that hit me, the first being shock. Oh so that's why I'm sweating? I thought to myself. I was laying on a moss bed, not remembering how I got there really. I stood up and walked near a trail. When I got there I saw a passer by.

"Hello," I said, walking towards them. They looked up at me from their phone and started to scream. I was confused, understandably.

They ran off and dropped their phone and earbuds. "Hey you dropped something!" I yelled out but they didn't turn back at all so I picked up the earbuds and phone and went back into the forest.

I turned on the phone, luckily no password, I turned on the camera and looked at myself. Oh my- fucking shit! I was terrifying, no wonder they ran, I would've too. But it gave me an idea, my look could give me free things, which in turn could help me live in the woods. Becoming an urban legend like bigfoot. I need a place to stay though, a place to live calmly and peacefully. Then I found a small barrow, like a bear's cave in those children's books. So I went into it and sat down and leaned up against the wall of the barrow.

I got on Spotify and put in the earbuds then I fell asleep listening to some lyric-less music. The cold stone walls made it very easy to find good rest in the hot heat. The walls actually made me sweatless and cool down more! But winter would be the worst time with the walls but I'll deal with that at a later time.

That's where it all started and now I've made it into a home! I even got a little buddy, a cat. I named her Sly, I got her only a couple months ago. Well started to take care of her, she was a stray, like me. Not accepted by society and left behind to rot behind closed doors. Besides that though, my food wouldn't be good for much longer, she needed proper cat food. So I needed a plan to go into town. I needed a disguise.

So I went to the trail and saw a person with a face mask on, perfect! I walked in front of them, they looked at me. They looked scared but didn't scream or run away. "May I have one?" I asked, pointing at the mask. They reached into their pocket and gave me an extra one. "Thank you," I said, then I walked away. I went back to my barrow or home. I changed into a hoodie and sweatpants, I put the hood up to hide my hair and put on the mask. "I'll be back later Sly," I said as I petted her. I didn't really want to leave her alone but it wouldn't be the first time she's been alone for a long time.

I left and used my phone to help me get out of the forest, which was a very big and confusing place. I then used a map to find the nearest pet store. I wasn't paying attention to where I was going and I bumped into someone.

"Oh sorry!" I said with haste so as to not seem rude.

"It's alright, I don't blame you," the guy said, "I was just standing in the middle of the sidewalk so it's not your fault, it's mostly mine." Which he was, then I looked up at him and my gosh he was fine. "Are you new around here?" He asked.

"Uhm yeah! Just came here to buy my cat some food," I responded.

"Well you've got the wrong pet store," he said so casually, "the one that you have on your phone shut down a year ago."

Dang it, did I really have to go to a different town just to buy some pet food!? The next town was so far away and I don't have a car or bike! And I don't know if they have buses that go there.
