Another Robot

"But she's dead? Why make another robot that's based on someone who's passed?"

"Maybe I could do a better job than last time." Henry said coldly before seeing the look Rory gave as it obviously hurt her, which made him sigh and placed a hand on Rory's head "Look I'm sorry, I'm not saying you were an awful creation or that I regret creating you if think think that." Rory nodded slightly, and just turned around and left her father alone.

It took Henry months to create the robot version of Charlie but he finally did it, this did not sit well with the family especially Rory who felt like she was being replaced in some way. And whenever she tried to tell Henry he'd brush it off as nothing, so she tried to talk to William who mostly ignored her and took her concerns as just 'being jealous' or whatever he could say to get her to stop talking about it.

Her parents were arguing a lot about everything and anything. Sammy also stopped coming around, though Rory didn't ask since asking anything seemed to get them to be annoyed at her and at times snapped at her. The robot didn't understand why they started to become hostile to her and it was concerning to her. To watch this robot toddler just walk around and hee father acting like it was real and giving it the love that he lacked for the rest of them made her feel a little jealous.

William didn't like this and was the cause of many arguments between the two. And Rory remembered just listening to it with her siblings on the stairs. It was another day and Rory was sitting on her bed writing and doodling in the notebook in her hand and was feeling very bored. She sets it down and gets up to go walk outside of her bedroom. The robot heard her father and went down the stairs to see him with the robot 'Charlie' as she frowns.

"Hey father can we do something together? Maybe watch a movie? Or.. Play a game?" She asked but it was clear he wasn't listening. She repeated herself a little bit louder before Henry looked over "Yeah? What is it?"

"Oh uh... Nothing-" Rory responded before watching him turn his attention back to what she now knew was her replacement before going back upstairs. Micheal stepped in front of her "Get out of my Micheal.."

"You know he basically replaced you. Maybe next time you'll be bye bye. Good riddance am I right? You're just some damn robot. A mistake is what you are." He spat Rory didn't say much and just nodded, she knew he was right and stepped past him back into her room and plopped herself onto her bed and snuggled up to a pillow.
