The silence of the common room was all that could be heard. That was until Ron came flying in Fred and George on his heels.

"We got them good this time didn't we Freddie?"

"We sure did."

Harry chuckled to himself rolling his eyes as Ron came over and slumped on the couch.

"Where's Hermione?" he asked looking around.

Harry shrugged but then as if on cue she walked in.

"Ronald Weasley!" she snapped.

"Ooo in Ronnie in trouble?" snickered George.

Harry sighed and zoned out while Ron and Hermione argued over whatever. Probably missing class.

"Oh, come on Hermione." groaned Ron but she shushed him before he could go on.

"Harry!" snapped Hermione.

Harry glanced over sitting up more on the couch looking at her. What had he missed? Or was she just in one of her moods again. She just looked at Harry as if expecting an answer.

"What?" he said bluntly.

She scoffed and stormed off. Harry glanced at Ron who rolled his eyes.

"she's just in one of her moods."

Ah so Harry had been right. But why did everything feel like a guessing game now? He was barely able to pay attention to his schoolwork and barely got his homework in on time. Now his friends too?

"Uh. Am go study." Harry mumbled sliding off the couch and heading towards his dorm.

"But it's not even close to curfew!" Ron called after him.

A hand was roughly shaking his shoulder.

"Harry! wake up!"

It was none other than Ron. Harry groaned shoving his friend away and getting up. Ron frowned slightly and spoke.

"You alright mate? You've not been yourself lately. More and more people are starting to notice."

"Am fine Ron. It just feels like something is missing."

With this Ron tilted his head. What was missing? Harry just looked at Ron starting to zone out again. What was missing? Was all that echoed in the back of his head.  But when Ron patted him on the shoulder he jolted out of his trance and got up quickly dressing. Maybe if he gave it time, he would be able to shake the feeling off?

Following Hermione and Ron into the hall. It seemed as if the hall was dimly lit. Maybe it was just Harry's mind playing games. The rush of students filled the hall. That was until one filmier person ran into him. He didn't need to look to know who. He knew right by the voice.

"Watch it Potter!"

Ron was quick to stepped in the way and meet Draco head on.

"Shove off Malfoy!"

Draco just scowled and walked off. Draco never backed down that fast. Harry heard yelling and footsteps for soon Crabb and Goyel to run past. Not a surprise being Draco's hench men. He glanced at Hermione who had taken the lead Ron not far behind. So Harry followed them.

"Mr. Potter." hissed a voice as a book was dropped on his desk. Harry glanced up to see Professor Snape standing over him.

"I was expecting you'd be paying some mind to what I teach."  he grounded out his voice dark and rough.

"Sorry Professor." he muttered out.

All he got in answer was a scoff before Snape carried on.

The day came to a close. As it normally would. But to Harry it felt unfinished. But classes were over. It was almost six at night. Then there was shouted from the common room doors. As Oliver Wood. A student who was two years ahead of Harry was standing waving his hand as a owl swooped in. Harry right away saw the letter clamped in its beak. But when it was dropped by him, he froze. Why to him? And from who? He grabbed the letter and turned it around in his hand. On the back written neat but small was the name.

To: Harry James Potter

From: Professor Dumbledore

Harry eyes widened as he fumbled with the note for a moment. Before e was able to rip it open.  Then he let his gaze flow over the letter.

Dear Harry

I have sent you this letter because I am in need of your help. I know this is something you might not be ready for. But don't worry.

There was a long space before the next part of the letter.

Tomorrow, please come down to my office so I may tell you. There will be a student from each house joining you.

Harry's eyes stayed glued to the note. What was that important Dumbledore could of not told him on the letter?

"Harry?" whispered a voice.

He spun around to come face to face with Hermione.

"Yeah?"

"Are you okay?" she asked her voice held real concern.

"Yes of course I am. Don't worry Mione."

He didn't want to worry his friend's. But at this point he was worrying a lot of people. With being so distant and everything.  But one question ran through his mind. What was so important Dumbledore needed one student from each house? And who were the other three?
