"So I'm just a friend to you?"
"What? No!"
Okay, this had gone on long enough, Olive decided, placing her book down and storming over towards the couple.
"Look. Camille, we both know Logan's an idiot," she said, looking over at the boy briefly before turning her attention back to Camille, "who stumbles over his words all the time. He didn't mean that your looks are the only worthy thing about you. You have a million other qualities that make you amazing." Olive said, standing in between the two of them.
She looked at Camille, giving her a sharp look before she turned to Logan.
"And Logan. Seriously dude. You never mention anything about the looks first. Compliment her brain or her personality." She glared at Logan, and the boy looked ashamed.
Good, she thought to herself, he deserved to be.
"Now," she said, her eyes ping ponging between the two of them, "I'm going back to my book. Try not to start any stupid fights for the rest of the day please."
And with that, she turned on her heel, making her way back to her cabana and opening the book again.
She could hear soft conversations and the sound of pool water as she read, but she was too engrossed in Auden and Eli's love story to care.
At least, not for right now.

Logan sighed, hesitating for a moment before he knocked on apartment 2M. He could hear soft conversations on the other side of the door, coming to a stop after he knocked.
"Coming!" Olive called out and Logan picked at a loose thread on his polo shirt. The door opened and Olive looked at him confused.
"Hey?"
"Hey." Logan said, running his fingers through his hair. "Can I uh, can I come in?"
Olive nodded, pushing the door open wide enough so that he walk in behind her. Wren was sitting on the couch and she gave Olive a look when she saw Logan. Logan felt his cheeks heating up.
The last time he had been in the apartment, at least with Wren's knowledge, had been when him and Olive fought. Clearly, she was still not happy about that.
"Hi Wren." He said, giving her a flustered smile. Wren returned the smile, but Logan could tell it was more out of politeness than anything else.
"So..." Olive asked, and Logan looked at her confused before remembering that he was the one who came over. He sighed, sitting down on the small armchair as Olive joined her sister on the bigger couch.
"I keep saying the wrong thing. To Camille y'know?" Logan said, and Olive nodded. "I just... I don't know how to explain my feelings to her. I say that I thought she was pretty, and she accuses me of only being interested in her for her looks. But I'm sure if I said I thought she was hot because she was intimidating, she'd yell at me for that too!"
Wren raised an eyebrow and Logan's cheeks immediately flushed.
Jesus, he was just making a joke of himself today huh?
"Have you tried looking at it from her perspective?" Olive asked. Logan stared at her in confusion.
Olive sighed before continuing. "Look. No girl likes being ground down to one specific thing that makes her her. Camille is a lot of things. She's an enigma."
That was an understatement, Logan thought.
"It's like me." Olive said. "I don't like to be defined by getting arrested. Wren," she said, pointing to her sister, "doesn't like to be defined by being a single parent."
Wren nodded before jumping in. "People are multifaceted kid. You can't define people by one thing. That's not fair to them."
Logan sighed. He knew that logically, but it was easier to group people. Kendall was the leader. James was the face. Carlos was the class clown. He was the brains. Camille was the actress. Jo was kind.
Olive was... Olive was her own category.
"I know. It's just easy to put people in boxes." He said. Olive snorted.
"Not everyone likes being boxed Mitchell."
Logan nodded, his eyes meeting Olive's again. He stared at her, his eyes tracing over her face. The wrinkles in her cheeks. At her tanned skin. How deep and brown her eyes were. The way her brow furrowed.
He liked looking at her, more than he probably should. Jesus. He really was the worst wasn't he?
"I uh.... I should probably get going home." He awkwardly stammered out. Olive nodded, getting up. He followed her to the door, turning around briefly to wave at Wren.
"Thanks guys. I'll uh, see you around."
Olive smiled at him, and Logan felt his stomach flip. "See you boybander."
She hadn't called him that nickname in weeks. Logan realized with a shock, that he had missed it.
He waved at Olive before exiting the apartment.
He was so screwed.
