"Are you serious?" Camille asked, and Logan winced as his girlfriend stood up abruptly. The brunette girl's arms were crossed over her chest as she stared him down. They had been cuddling for a while, Logan playing with Camille's hair as she explained how she realized her feelings for him.
Honestly, it was kind of nice hearing how wanted you were, Logan had thought to himself. He had never really had that before. But of course, he had to screw it all up when Camille asked him what his realization had been.
"I mean yeah. C'mon Mille." He said softly, reaching his arm out to gently touch her elbow. She stepped back, glaring at him.
"You didn't like me at first?" She asked and Logan bit down on his lip. When she said it like that, it sounded bad.
But honestly it was true. Camille was pretty, but she was intimidating. And Logan barely knew how to talk to girls who weren't Katie or Mrs. Knight.
His track record proved that. He thought for a second, trying to think of a way he could backtrack.
"I mean I thought you were pretty?" He offered, and Camille scoffed.
"Great. So all I am to you is my looks?"
"No!"
"So what am I Logan? Because right now, that's what you are saying." She stared at him even harder. Logan didn't know what to say that wouldn't make things worse. He opened his mouth but no words came out.
Camille sighed, shaking her head before making her way to the door. Logan followed after her. "Figure out an answer." She told him, her eyes looking everywhere but his face. Logan went to grab her hand and she shoved him away.
"Call me when you do." Camille said, before opening the door, slamming it on her way out. He watched her go, his hand still extended. Logan groaned, lifting his hand to run his fingers through his hair, tugging at the ends.
He was an idiot. An idiot who had no clue how to fix this. At all.
Fuck.

Olive hummed under her breath as she made her way to the Palm Woods pool. Her towel draped over her shoulder, and her copy of Along For The Ride by Sarah Dessen rested in her hand.
She had been trying to read the book for weeks, but between school, hanging out with Lexi, work and her parole meetings, it seemed impossible. Especially after the boys moved into the Palm Woods and started wreaking havoc.
Shaking her head, Olive found an empty cabana, and grinned to herself as she set her stuff down, getting comfortable.
Tucking her hair behind her ear, she dove back into her book, grateful for some peace and quiet.
Of course, she should have known that there was no such thing as peace and quiet at the Palm Woods.
"I'm not talking to you." Camille yelled, and Olive rolled her eyes, poking her head out of her cabana to see what the brunette girl was yelling about. Olive's eyes widened as she realized Camille was yelling at Logan, and pretty loudly as well.
The boy looked equally pissed off. He held his hands up in almost defeat. "I'm sorry. I've said it a million times Mille. I don't know what the fuck else you want me to say?"
"That I'm more than my looks." Camille bit back. Ouch, Olive thought. Whatever Logan had said that had led to this, she hoped he was learning his mistake.
"Of course you are." Logan said, and Olive watched as he tried to grab onto Camille's arm only to get his hand slapped away.
"Seriously Mille. You're smart. You're cool as hell. You're a great friend."
