She slowly grasps her silky heavy brown bag, rips covering the side of the seam, almost giving out. She turns her head back, looking at the ruins of her old house that once brought her joy and pleasure with a twinkle in her eyes and a smirk. Her father had a Cheshire cat smile, wide and big, that brought her a sense of comfort and an unforeseen sense of jubilation. She felt the pang of sadness despite replacing the once joyful spirit that brought her comfort and familiarity. Had she encountered such a significant change. A tear-shaped drop rolled from out of the river inside her, going down her pale white face. The smokey burnt wood sitting on the cold grass amid the cold hard rubble. She felt her heart rate go rapid as everything around her came to a blur. She gets lost in her feelings of anxiousness, memories passing by her face. Her breathing pace thickens as she feels the walls of the world closing in on her with no escape. Her eyes start to unfocus as she slowly tries to just sit down wanting this to stop. All of a sudden there was a snap in her face followed by a ratchety old voice that recalled her memory of the wicked Witch from The Wizard of Oz. She starts to focus as she investigates what that noise is as she looks behind her softly turning her dress flowing on the ground as she does a turn, her breath stabilizing and heart rate no longer rapid.  "God, child..- hello? Earth to Lizzy" a tall but slim woman with brunette hair a wicked grin, and a short-cut skirt. Her hair is in a neat bun very prosperous compared to how most people are on a sorrowful day like this, seeing a child like this. The woman gives her a look showing her no pity for her loss not showing even an ounce of care. Her tone is harsh and straight to the point and no compassion. It made Lizzy wonder if this woman even had a heart or if was she just a rust bucket of an emotionless pit.  "Sorry I got lost in thought about my parents," Lizzy said softly feeling disconsolate and very out of sorts. Lizzy's hair wasn't as neat compared to this woman and Lizzy could never afford those fancy clothes like her but it's not like she would be caught dead in that pitiful excuse for fashion. Her mom and dad are stuck in her mind like a record playing on a loop. "Nobody wants you and I would leave you in this dump of a house but I'll get fired and we have to try one more place," The woman said in a snobby low tone that reminded Lizzy of an old cranky teacher she had before she moved. This was supposed to be her new life moving here from Maine to Oregon but here she is next to the ruins of her new house and no parents. She feels bewildered about how this could've happened, the shock strong as she never had dreamed of this happening. Her heart aches the shock is coming to her as she stands on the cold hard ground. "We can't stand here forever," The woman says in a rushed exasperated tone.  She looks fed up wanting to proceed to the orphanage instead of standing here looking at the rubble that was once a place of refuge and residency. Her memories come from the broken grey rubble lying on the ground. The lady rushes her away into a bright yellow Toyota Corolla that is now fifteen years old. It was a rusty car that looked like it was on its last leg. She slowly opens the jagged handle sitting down on the car's rough seat before slowly closing the door for a second feeling the boisterous wind. She feels the car start slowly as she looks back to the house fading into the distance of the sunset. She feels as her sense of belonging fades away, flashbacks of the incident flood into her empty mind. Her breathing slows as she feels the tears slowly drip followed by soft sniffling, the river flowing from her eyes as she tries to contain herself in a struggle. Her heart skipped a beat as she felt a pang of sadness for her parents and directed to herself cause the incident. The crash was stuck in her mind replaying over again. She looks back through eh car window her old house faded in the distance. She knew this new journey would be rough be she couldn't estimate how rough it truly would be.
