I woke up to the crisp fall breeze brushing my cheek through the window that I always keep cracked open. I stretch my arms and legs out to regain blood flow back into them and I look out my window to see the beautiful red, yellow, and orange leaves falling off the trees. I smile from ear to ear manifesting that this week is going to be great.
I jump out of my bed and walk into my kitchen to make some coffee as I hear someone knocking at my front door. As I'm walking over to see, the door swings open and it's my best friend Olivia with two cups of coffee and some donuts from our favorite coffee shop. I laugh to myself and regret giving her a spare key. "Rise and shine bitch!! It's time to start celebrating your birthday!" I look at her confused "My birthday isn't until Friday Liv" she looks at me as she sets down the coffee "Now Madeline, you're lucky I didn't make it a month celebration! Come on, you should be excited you're about to be 25!"
I shrug my shoulders "yea, I'm so happy to be getting older and closer to death." I say jokingly. She rolls her eyes "you already know with age comes wisdom, and with wisdom comes sexy! You're going to age like fine wine" she teases while taking a bite of her donut. I laugh and sit down across from her at my kitchen table. "So what's the plan today?" Liv says with her mouth full of food. I smile "I don't know I was probably just going to go to the library and find a few new Romance books"
Olivia looks at me dumbfounded "BOOORRIIINNGGGG! I have an even better plan" Olivia never fails with ideas that's why when we go out I usually just let her make the plans. I laugh out loud because she really is a character "Okay what do you have in mind?" She jumps out of her chair and starts making her way to my bedroom closet. As I follow her she starts pulling clothes out for me and tells me to go hop in the shower.
After a good 30 minutes go by I start to blow dry my hair and turn my straightener on. I usually use my straightener for loose curls and I wanted to go for that look today. I did my normal makeup routine which is foundation, bronzer, false lashes, mascara and some lipstick. As I walk out of the bathroom and into my room Olivia's just laying on my bed scrolling through her phone. She points over at my vanity chair without taking her eyes off her phone and says "I set your outfit up over there"
I laugh at her for being so sucked into her phone and grab the outfit she laid out for me. It's a black long sleeve turtle neck with my black high wasted skirt and some black thigh high socks. And she brought out my black heel boots. I look at her "I guess we're wearing all black today?" She smiles while still looking at her phone "yea babe, we're all dark and mysterious" i shake my head while laughing and go into my bathroom to try everything on together.
It looks pretty cute and simple , I just added some earrings and a necklace and for when we leave I'm going to wear my brown coat that goes to my knees. When I walk back into my room Olivia looks up from her phone and smiles "I did a great job with that outfit!" I laugh "okay okay where are we going?!"
Olivia jumps off my bed with all this excitement "Okay well you know how much we like to watch project fear?" I looked at her cautiously and say "yyyeessss?" She starts to jump up and down "well! I got us tickets to paracon for your birthday at pennhurst and we are going today to go meet them and all these other amazing ghost investigators! Oh! And I bought us a hotel room for two nights so we'll be going for the two days. While you were in the shower I packed your bag and put it in the car! Surprise!!" I look at her shocked.. I was so nervous because I've been watching Dakota Chelsea Tanner and Alex since they started their show on travel channel called 'destination fear' .
She stops jumping up and down with excitement "why aren't you jumping?! This is going to be so much fun!" I push all my nerves aside and smile "I am excited just nervous is all" Olivia laughs "you're finally going to meet Dakota who you've been drooling over ever since you seen him on ghost adventures" my face starts to warm up and I laugh and roll my eyes "yea so what he's hot!" She playfully nudges my arm "come on we have to hit the road if we want to get there in time" I grab my charger and all my essentials I would need for if I was staying overnight somewhere and start heading for the front door. As we make it into the car Olivia pulls up the directions to pennhurst and it says we'll be there in 30 minutes. My hearts pounding out of my chest but I'm excited for what these next two days has coming for us.

I think Olivia is such a good friend to Maddie for just being her! She has such a bright spirit and she loves Maddie so much !! There friendship is something I've always wanted to have !! I hope you like the second chapter!!
