Marble floors, wooden tables and chairs, perfectly dried roses hung upside down on the creme colored walls. Humming echoes from the kitchen to the living room and onto the dark faux leather couch. A young lady sits there, grabbing a pink sparkling tea that lays upon the glass table that has a spread of letters and papers from loving patronages and fans.

The dark haired lady traces her fingers across the porcelain tea cup before taking a sip- at least she attempted.

First came a whistle, then a crash, then a rumble that could be felt through the ground and vibrated to the very core of her stomach. The tea spilled on her cotton blouse and the papers pushed themselves off the table and onto the carpeted floors. It was as if a meteor crashed right into her garden, but it was even more interesting in that. Now alert and frankly on edge, the girl walked to her kitchen and out to her backyard, where she found a being submerged in the rich soil and covered in rose petals from her well awarded garden. The creature got up with a groan and click of her teeth. As she lifted her head she meet eyes with the curious human that stared down at her. The sun setting behind her head and her clothes flowing in the wind. Silence fell over the both of them as they stared at each other in both shock and curiosity. The girl cleared her throat, looking around her now damaged garden. She simply sighed and walked closer towards the alien-who was now startled. Gasping at the hand that reached out to hers.

"Uhm...she started, are you okay?" She tilted her head. The alien reached her hand towards her now glowing chest. "You don't have to do that, gem. I will  not hurt you, I just want to help"She lowers herself to the gems eye level "Its odd you landed so far away from the rest, I thought all the gem refugees arrived by now, how come you're here?" she asked now tilting her head to the other side. Silence fell again but now more awkwardly. "I...I- there was a miscalculation I assume" she looked to the side now seeing all the rose petals twirling the wind, her eyelids lowered as she assessed the damage, her pale colorful eyes softening. "Sorry" she lifts her self up and the human mirrors her "The damage-I-I apologize" the tall being crosses her hands over her chest and lowers her head in apology. The tanned skin girl only breathed threw her nose in amusement. "I'm Mercedes, although I'm known as Mercy around these parts" She holds out her hand yet again, smiling. The gem hesitates but slowly slides her fingers into the human- Mercy's palms. "I am Opal". Mercy smiles before leading the gem into her single home and reluctantly Opal accepts her unexpected kindness.

"Well it seems like you landed north when you were supposed to land south" crossing her legs she took a sip of her tea. "The gem colony is towards beach city, this is crow country. Of course I can help you locate that area if you wish, I assume you are here to join the gem colony?" She questioned, tapping her acrylic fingernails on the glass. Opal let out air from her chest before answering, "Ah yes that was my goal actually, I will be happy to receive your help if you are willing". Looking down Opal waits for an answer which was asked before she even asked. "Well of course! I'm always willing to help a gem! Without you guys I'm sure our little back water planet would be star dust by now, you know with the whispers of war and all.." she trailed. Opal only shook her head. Ever since she was welcomed in she didn't say too much. It was as if she was hiding herself or maybe protecting herself from the human girl. Mercy asked many questions about the gem but she only gave short answers. Eventually Mercy figured the gem was tired after such a landing and offered her to rest in her room. Of course gems don't need to sleep but she took the offer anyway, anything to get away from the beautiful human she couldn't stop glancing at from the corner of her eyes.

The gem had to stay longer than she wished to, the human having no means for transportation as her car engine was unfortunately busted. If her dad was still here he'd tell her she should have checked her engine regularly or to stop ignoring odd sounds coming from her car. but she was far too busy with for that as an up and coming dancer. And she told herself that the grinding and popping was fine; which she immediately regretted when her car broke down a block away from her home last week. She called the towns mechanic to come take a look after her neighbors helped tow her beat up car to her driveway, but he couldn't come to fix it till Saturday-something about stolen parts and a broken in garage. Thankfully it was Thursday and soon the mechanic would be there to fix her car, and not only could she help the gemling in her room but make it on time (hopefully) to her next performance in Beach city.

Still it was awkward between the human and gem, and as much as she liked the company she wasn't fond of company ignoring her existence. She tried to start conversations with the gem but in the end it all fell short despite her efforts. Annoyed she finally decided to comfort the gem. Opal would sit outside in the garden. Now cleaned up from the damaged from a few days ago and stare blankly at the roses. "Ahem" Mercy eyes narrowed "Its pretty isn't it? Although now destroyed... months of labor and money down the drown". Opals head shot down and she started to apologize but Mercy interrupts. "I let in a complete stranger after they destroy what I love and not only do they ignore me, but admire their handy-work, how cruel don't you think?" Opal legs start to bounce and she apologies even more, her rainbow tinted hands gripping her upper arms. "I was just- I'm a bit well". Her eyelashes fluttered up and down as she curled herself farther. Feeling guilty mercy sighs "Ah stop I was just teasing, sorry" she paused. "I shouldn't have taken out my anger on you, I was just-". "No you're right I was ignoring you...and even as an accident i did ruin your-" she lifted her head up, eyes opened wider as she stared into the garden before she looked down again at her bare feet. "Garden" she continued. Mercedes smiled slightly and sat down on the tiny kitchen patio that stopped right at her feet. "Even so I was being petty and immature" she admitted. "But I must ask, why are you ignoring me?" She placed her hands on her faces and her knees balanced her elbows, tilting her head towards the gem she shifted her lips to do the side in a pout. The gem played with her fingers and shook her head. " i was... nervous I guess, or scared? or..." she trailed. Mercy perked up "Of what? me?". Opal shook her head again, her hair slightly moving with it. "Ive never meet a human and my first meeting I already made a mistake, and I avoided you which well then made it worse and then I". Mercy laughed," don't worry about it, gardens grow and die and grow again, this one will too just speak to me from now on okay?" She smiled, her cheeks curving into her dark brown eyes, her pink full lips opening to reveal her teeth. Opal smiled back sort of- now looking completely at the human instead of her normal short glances. "Of course."
