Chapter 1: School

*Bell Rings*

"Great I am gonna be late to class." I mumbled to myself "Good job
smoothie machine."

I went to grab a paper towel but nothing was there. Uhh why of all days did the smoothie machine have to backfire and explode all over me, and why did I have to wear white. I grabbed my books off the shelf and started walking out of the bathroom when I bumped into someone and all my books fell on the floor.

"Thanks a lot." I said grabbing my books. I look up to see who it was and it was no other than Matthew Barley.

"What's all over your shirt?" He asked as if he needed to know.

"Thats what you are worried about, you knocked all my books to the ground and are late to class and you are worried about what is on my shirt?"

"Yes" he said in a duh tone.

I roll my eyes and push past him and run upstairs to my next class. I walk by a couple people and they laugh and whisper but it doesn't bother me, I'm used to it. I walk into the classroom and the teachers eyes are focused on the whiteboard so maybe she wouldn't notice. I sneek into my desk by the door hopefully going unnoticed.

"Ms. Maver you are late." She said never taking her eyes off the whiteboard.

Let me tell you a little something about my first period teacher Ms. Gawve (G-wave) She has 6cats and 2 dogs. She has had 7 different husbands and they all left her after about a month or two of being married to her. She is 56 years old and very cranky. She is also one of those teachers that spend the whole class time talking about her life. 'Today class we are gonna be learning about the ancient Greek life. Haha that reminds me one time with my husband, husband number 5, we were at a restaurant and he was ordering my dessert then JONNY PUT YOUR HAND DOWN I AM TALKING! So anyways when he was ordering my grape flavored ice cream he accidentally pronounced it greek ice cream. Haha get it get it greek not grape.' Then bam the rest of the class time she is talking about ice cream flavors.

"Sorry Ms. Gawve I had a problem with the smoothie machine."

"You know what this means Lucey, detention."

Great now detention how can this day get any worse?

First period was over soon luckily. Now second period too bad I have second period with Matthew. I walk in and he is sitting in my spot just to annoy me. I smack him on the head with me English book.

"Ou" he said "now what was that for?"

I rolled my eyes "Out. Of. My. Chair."

"Oh this is your chair?" He asked smiling "I don't see your name on it."

"I don't see your name on it either but thanks for making sure no one put glue on it."

"You can sit on my lap." He suggested

"Aww how sweet." Then I pushed him off it and sat in it.

The bell rang and the teacher walked in and Matthew hurried up and sat in the desk beside me.

"No thats Jacks desk." I whisper to him.

Jack is my shcool crush. He was supposed to be quarter back for the football team until Matthew randomly disided to join and he was quarter back. This is my one period that I actually get to sit by him of course I am to nervous to even talk to him but once he asked to borrow a pencil! Me and Ruby (Ruby's my best friend) were celebrating for weeks.

To bad I was to nevous to say anything so I threw it at him and it hit him straight in the face. Jack is my crush because he is the one popular guy that never bullied me.

"Why is everything have to be about Jack?"

"Everything is not about Jack you are just being jealous!" I hissed at him uhh I hate Matthew.

"What if I am jealous of him!" He hissed back

Wooh was not expecting that. What in the world was Matthew jealous of him for? Matthew was quarter back, lives in a huge house, drives sports cars, and had girls crawling on him.

I was about to ask when all of a sudden Jack appeared. "Hey what's up bro? You want to sit in my spot today? Alright."

My eyes widened "NO! Jack you can sit here please Matthew will move." I shot Matthew a glare. He knew that I have a crush on Jack.

"Nah Jack I think I am gonna sit here today." I was about to release the lion in me and tackle Matthew to the ground but the teacher came around passing us papers for the stupid spelling bee tonight.

Jack took a seat on the other side of Matthew. Jack looked over at me and winked. Ahhh he winked at me this was even better then the time he asked to borrow a pencil! I just wanted to-

"Ms. Maver!" Called the teacher snapping me out of lala land.

"Yes?"

"Come solve the math problem up on the board!"

"Okay" I slid out of my desk and went up to the white board. The problem was

Find the mean, median, mode of the data.

It only took me about 3 minutes and I also checked it over. I went to go sit back down when someone put there foot out and tripped me. I got back up and went to my seat.

"Hey you got it wrong it's not zero it's eight." Whispered Matthew.

"Hey derp get your glasses checked because that is an eight." I said back

"I don't wear glasses it will ruin my sexiness."

"That was ruined a long time ago."

"Oh so you are saying that I had it at one time."

I was about to reply but the teacher shhed us. I roll my eyes.

Second period was long because Mr. I talk a lot, a.k.a. Matthew wouldn't shut up.

The third bell rang yay lunch! And I ran to lunch. At the table I met Ruby and uhh Matthew.

"What is he doing here?" I asked

"I told him to go but he wouldn't." She said

"What do you want Barley."

"What I can't sit with you?"

"Please no."

"Why? I mean your brother is my best friend and he is your brother."

"He is my brother but that does not mean you get to sit with us."

"Fine I will go back to my table."

"Good and take the chair with you sense you like to steal chairs." He rolled his eyes then left. "What is his problem?"

"Ahh you two are perfect for each other!" Squelled Ruby
