8. 'You deserve more than that.'

Start from the beginning

"No problem, let's go!" she starts running towards the water but stops. She tangles her fingers and looks at me shyly.

"Bucky..."

"Yes?"

"Would you mind, turning around? I'm not comfortable to-"

"Don't worry about it" I turn around and wait for her to get changed.

"Please don't turn around until I'm in the water..." I smile to myself.

"Yes ma'am" she chuckles

"Thank you" she mumbles and I hear her getting undressed.

"Y/n?"

"Yeah?"

"Would you mind, if I dive in? It's getting too hot." I say and I know she's thinking about it, "I'll get in like this" I start walking like a carb sideways, my back still facing her and head to the water. I hear her laughing.

I love that sound.

I get in the sea and after a while I hear a big splash. Turning around I see no one, other than the rough area in the sea. Then y/n rises up a meter away from me. Anyone. Just anyone remind me, why did I think this was a good idea. Me and her. All alone? Mmm?

"It's lovely!" she grins widely making me do the same.

"How long has it been since you swam with someone?" she sighs

"Years... since we joined the avengers, I avoided coming along with them... I'd stay back at the tower and enjoy myself in the swimming pool."

"Alone?"

"Yeah..."

Again. Why did I put myself in this position? Drops of water sliding down her skin, her cheeks turning slightly red as time passes and her skin shines in such a beautiful way under sun... Don't get me started at those eyes... I haven't seen her so happy before...

"You deserve more than that." She smiles

"Maybe... but I can't risk it... Anyway! Enough talking let's race to that rock!" I turn and look at where she's pointing.

"That's too far away!"

"Don't worry I might let you win, if I see you struggling" she smirks

"Oh, you're going down, doll" she sticks her tongue out and dives right in. "HEY YOU DIDN'T SAY WHEN IT STARTED!"

"YOU'RE A SUPER SOLDIER, WHY SHOULD I TELL YOU?" she swims faster and faster and I laugh to her response. I dive in and swim after her. Quickly I had reached her but decided to keep a good distance to let her win. There was a two-meter distant between us and every time I put my head in the water, I saw her... She's gorgeous. Damn...

We made it to the rock and she celebrated her win while I was just laughing at her reaction. She splashes water in my face playing mad.

"I know you let me win, I'm not stupid" she slightly laughs "But it was a good swim" I splash her back.

"It sure was" she wipes her face laughing.

"But. Now I'm super exhausted, I'll have to rest" she lays her upper body on the rock. "I should have thought about it better" she chuckles

"You may get scratched"

"I don't have anything else to lean on" she rolls her eyes.

"You have my arm" I raise my cool hand up and she smiles.

"I don't think it'll work..."

"Okay how about, you relax and I take your hand and lead you closer to the shore? You'll get some rest; I'll do the rest. And don't worry I'll keep my eyes at the shore, all the time" She thinks about it and immediately reaches out her hand. I smile and take it. Um... now that I think about it... I can't swim and look at the shore while dragging her. I'll most likely drown her. Her body is now on the surface of the water and her eyes are closed. I gulp. Start swimming with my whole body facing her and my back facing the shore, even though I told her otherwise. But I'm not looking at her. I did once, or twice... or just a few glances I'm sorry, I'm human guys... I tried keeping my eyes to the sky and I did for the majority of the time. Finally, we reach a point where her feet touch the sand.
