Don't Make Me Regret You ~Topper Thornton

Callie's POV

       I used to live on the OBX but when my dad died suddenly in a car accident last year my mom decided it would be best if we moved back to her hometown to be closer to her parents. I was so upset because I had to leave my friends and the only home I've ever known after losing my father. Kie and I begged our parents to let me move in with them til I graduated, but mom got so upset and started crying so I gave in. Kie and I have kept in contact so when her mom called my mom and asked if she would let me spend the summer with them I begged my mom to let me go. After a few days she finally agreed so here I am on the ferry headed back to the island.

     When I got off the ferry I saw Kie and Sarah Cameron with three guys I knew to be John B, JJ, and Pope because of the pictures she always sent me. Kie and I took off running towards each other, I jumped up wrapping my arms and legs around her. I couldn't help the tears that came out and once I pulled back and looked at her she had tears running down her cheeks too. I used my thumbs to wipe them off and said "I missed you so much lil cuz" she rolled her eyes and said "you're like two months older than me, but I missed you so much too". We walked to the others and I gave Sarah a hug before they introduced me to the guys. We started walking back to the van known as the Twinkie I looked at Kie and whispered "dang jj is even cuter is person, good job". She rolled her eyes at me throwing my things in the Twinkie.

   John B drove us to the chateau where they decided they wanted to throw a kegger in my honor tonight at the beach. They filled me in on all the drama with Sarah's brother and Topper who apparently dated Sarah before she got with John B and cheated with him. I remember Topper some, I went to a few parties at his house while I was living here and he always seemed so sweet to me I couldn't believe everything they told me he'd done. I looked at the girls and asked "dang y'all why do the hot ones always have to be the most psychotic?" They started laughing and then Kie looked at me and asked "wait didn't you and Rafe go on a few dates sophomore year?" Sarah cut in and said "oh my god I forgot about that! You used to come stay with me and disappear for a while before you finally came back to my room blushing". I looked at them and said "wait a minute before y'all start making ideas up of what happened between us, I promise nothing happened besides maybe a kiss or two. And Sarah it was only like two times. Then I decided he was absolutely not someone I wanted to date. Guess the drugs finally took full control of him".

    The guys took the Twinkie to grab the keg and we took Kie's car back to her place so I could see her parents and they could tell my mom I made it safely. As soon as I walked through the door Anna came running up to me and pulled me into a hug saying "there's my favorite niece" I laughed and told her "I'm your only niece" she laughed and pulled away looking at me, "I can't believe how grown up you look" I laughed saying "come on Auntie A I'm only two months older than Kie". Sarah and Kie had disappeared upstairs as soon as we walked in the door. I looked at Auntie A and said "alright I gotta go to the girls. Apparently they want to take me to the beach later and we need to get ready. Thank you so much for talking mom into letting me spend the summer with y'all. I miss y'all and this place so much, there's just so many good memories of dad on this island and it's nice being back". She had tears in her eyes when she said "he loved you so much Callie and I know he'd be so proud of you".
