Prologue:

Orm Kornnaphat Sethratanapong, a 25-year-old professor at a renowned university in Bangkok, was frantically packing her bags.

She felt betrayed and trapped.

Her loving parents, who had always been her pillars of support, had sprung a surprise on her: an arranged marriage.

Her mother, the epitome of a supportive parent, had insisted that she was destined to meet her soulmate that night.

Orm was stunned. She had no idea when her parents had hatched this plan.

The thought of being forced into a marriage she didn't want was terrifying. She was a free-spirited woman, enjoying her independence and career.

As Orm packed her belongings, a mix of anger, fear, and sadness welled up inside her. She couldn't believe her parents would do this to her.

She had always trusted them, but now, she felt betrayed and alone.

Orm glanced at the clock. She had thirty minutes before her parents' guests arrived. It was her last chance to escape.

She carefully opened her bedroom door, her heart pounding in her chest. If anyone heard her, her plan would be ruined.

She packed enough for a week away and tiptoed out of her room, her small luggage dragging behind her.

As she reached the front door, she saw a black Jeep Wrangler pulling into their driveway.

Her mother's voice, welcoming their guests, filled the air.

Panic surged through Orm. She dashed to the side of the house, hiding in her mothe's garden.

Orm cowered behind the bushes, cursing the overgrown garden that now served as her hiding place.

She was grateful for the cover, but she hated how it made their house look like a jungle.

Peering through the leaves, she saw a handsome man, an elderly woman, and another woman in her forties. There was no one her age in sight.

"Is Mom going to make me marry that older woman?" Orm whispered to herself, her anger growing.

"What's wrong with her? She should at least find someone younger! This is another reason to run away!" She couldn't believe her mother's choices.

"Orm Kornnaphat!" Her mother's voice echoed through the house, assuming she was still in her room.

Orm knew she had to act fast.

If she didn't escape now, she would be forced to marry either the older woman or the elderly lady. Neither option was appealing.

She emerged from the bushes, scanning the surroundings for anyone watching.

Suddenly, a young maid spotted her, her eyes widening in surprise.

The maid was about to speak, but Orm shushed her, shaking her head frantically. She gestured for the maid to keep quiet, her desperation evident.

The maid nodded, understanding, and left, pretending nothing had happened.

Orm silently thanked her for her help.

Lingling Sirilak Kwong, a 29-year-old powerhouse and the current president of Bangkok University, was a whirlwind of activity.

Her sharp eyes and furrowed brows were a testament to the intensity of her focus as she typed furiously on her laptop, exchanging messages with her secretary.
