Chapter 53: Ms. Riddle

Maritza: "Ok."

Trinity walks out of the bushes and blends in with the crowd, not attracting any attention. marts on the other hand wasn't going to take any chance so she stays in her spot recording the Enigma's interactions with the folks. For the most part, the guy wasn't looking suspicious, however he was getting the people riled up, almost as if he was inciting a small riot.

Enigma: "So you see, it starts out with the vandalism, then the missing people, after that there's our official documents falling under siege. You do realize that nothing is being down and yet we keep allowing this to happen."

Mr. Jason: "Then there was the Golden Apple incident and it came at a cost of a child's life, yet the mayor and the officers did nothing too."

Enigma: "I'm telling you this will only get worse and worse as time goes on. What next, more of our children will suffer the same fate Lucy Yi did? You already know how that spectacle went."

Mr. Grayson: "Yeah, the girl had a great injustice."

Mr. Bales: "And Ike Gershowitz also faced a similar issue and him being a security officer, never had the justice he deserved."

Enigma: "I mean yes, Mr. Peterson did invented the rides and had a part to play in g the Golden Apple mess, but I need to share something with you that the mayor and the National Banner never mentioned to any of you."

Mrs. Tillman: "And what pray tell is that."

Enigma: "That same mayor and his associates who were sitting in that office rushed the whole process and tried to make the person they hired, along with his family, who are no more, take the fall for their own mistakes! And get this: if the mayor and his associates could do that to them, then they can do the exact same thing to you when they find the right opportunity!"

The folks let the words sit in their heads and they now knew that changes needed to be made, that there were some people who needed to be replaced.

Enigma: "Now get this. The Peterson situation was this bad that some foreign people arrived and were stalking then giving that poor family more issues. And from what I could gather those two foreign people are still around in this town now and are most likely stirring up trouble. Stalking, watching in the shadows, they are most likely observing us now as we speak!"

At first, this was getting everyone shake up but then Mr. Duke had this to ask.

Mr. Duke: "How are you even sure of this, let alone know about it?"

The masked man chuckles to himself then puffs up his chest with pride for what he was about to say next.

Enigma: "Well you see, while the Banner was trying to use Peterson's failures to bait you all into their moments of glory, I had seen the two strangers' vehicle tail behind Mr. Peterson wife, stressing that poor woman out. I'd even overheard the poor woman poor out here frustrations to one of the town lawyers who also is has a connection to the mayor's associates. Just from that you can tell how suspicious that is."

Mrs. Mervin: "Now that you mention it, I did remember seeing a black jalopy follow Mrs. Peterson after the funeral service of Lucy Yi."

Mrs. Jenkins: "And I did hear her arguing on the phone with that same lawyer. And speaking of the lawyer, he has had a record of overcharging his customers and then failing each case."

Now most of the people were getting angry, and this was making the Enigma very pleased. Even Maritza was surprised to see how much influence the guy was having.

The whole scene was getting intones that Maritza and Trinity had to leave of else they would get torn into pieces from the townsfolk's outrage.

Trinity: "So far there wasn't much on my end. Ms. Riddle was only asking questions on what went missing. But each answer that was given was only getting the people mad. I honestly y to see the lot on the employees and the police officer faces each time they gave an answer. They were literally walking on eggshells around these folks."
