Chapter 3: The Ball

Start from the beginning

"Meet my son, Asmodeus!"
My mother started talking with other royals about politics or something like that. My head turned on to a peaceful corner in the back of the ballroom. However, when I took my turn, my mother grabbed me and started yanking me somewhere.

"Mother!"
"HELLO ANNABETH!"

"AMU!"
My mother yelled to a tall woman.
"Where's Y/n?"
"Here!"

I perked my head up when I heard the familiar name.

I saw my fiancée standing behind her mother, Annabeth L/n. She was looking at me with her beautiful, cold, but strangely- soft, e/c orbs. She looked so cold but
innocent at the same time.
"Enjoy yourselves!" Our mothers yelled in unison and left me with Y/n alone.

There was a minute of silence of me secretly admiring her features. She had her long/short,
h/c hair loose, a bow decorating her head. Her blue dress matched her eyes perfectly. I couldn't take my eyes off of her. But she is like every other girl... so why...?
I was in a deep thought when I noticed someone glancing from behind her shoulder. My eyes wandered on them and I recognized...
"Valac?!" I whispered-yelled.

She looked at me and grinned

"Long time no see, Azz Azz!"

"Wait, you know each other?"
Y/n questioned while tilting her head a little putting her finger on her perfect, plump, pink lips. They looked so...

So kissable...

What on Lord am I thinking?!

"Yepp, we used to go to the same highschool, tho his ego-"
"I still hate you, Valac" I barked, stating the word "Valac" more harshly.
"I know" Valac smirked and started walking away.
"Have a good time, love birds!"

"Clara!" Y/n whispered yelled through her gritted teeth.

Y/n's pov:

I love you, Clara, but you're going to regret that.

I looked at my friend's back as she disappeared into the crowd taking an opportunity to grab a drink from a waiter. My eyes trailed to the man standing in front of me. His attention was fully on me but he quickly turned his gaze away and let out a cough.

I suddenly felt an urge of going to the bathroom, so I excused myself and ran of to my destination.

I ran inside pushing past a blonde girl, sending me daggers from her eyes, with me apologizing. She just huffed and walked out.
I starred at my reflection in the mirror placing my hands on the both sides of the sink.

What is that feeling...?

Well, I surely felt it before but this time it feels more real. And why is that feeling only appearing when I'm with Asmodeus...?

I tugged on my hair and pulled out the bow. Just a regular bow, but I wore it every time I attended to a ball. I brought the tiny accessory close to me heart while calming myself from that feeling.

Could it be...?

No, Y/n. You can't get overwhelmed by any emotions. Love is useless. It's painful, remember?

I put the bow in my small pocket still breathing slowly while escorting myself from the bathroom.

When I got back, I tried to look for Asmodeus, or just someone I know, but then I bumped into someone.
"Oh sorry-"
I looked up and saw Ren- my one and only stalker who I had many problems with.
My mouth want agape. Of all demons, why him?

It all started when I tripped on my way to the ballroom from my carriage and he caught me. I quickly thank him and went my way, but he was just starting to have ideas about me. He took pictures of me, even one time he tried to poison me in my mansion by breaking in to the kitchen and adding something to my meal, fortunately, I took one bite and fell asleep for only 5 minutes, which wasn't enough for him to kidnap me. After many other attempts my family reported him to the police, while he treated them with many diamonds and treasures which didn't make them put him in prison. I stayed careful from that time.
