Kezia walked into the lecture hall feeling grumpy. She dropped her books on a desk top beside the wall and slumped into the seat.

"What's with you?" Ranja asked, sliding into the seat beside her. They had met freshman year and had made fast friends.

"Ugh. I'm just not in the mood." Kezia sneered.

"No?" Ranja laughed. "I couldn't tell."

"Did you see who was on the debate roster?" Kezia asked sitting up.

"No, why?" Her friend settled in.

"Because if it is boring I might melt into a puddle of distain." Kezia said looking around at their classmates who were filling the room.

"Let me check." Ranja said typing on her phone. She scrolled for a second before turning the screen to show Kezia.
