The First Hello

Introduction:

Arunita (Aru): Shy and talented singer with a passion for music.

Ashish: Playful and humorous, loves to lighten the mood.

It was finally a break from the busy shoot schedule. Sayli sat by the window with Arunita, aimlessly scrolling through her phone. She glanced outside and spotted Ashish and Pawan walking leisurely in the garden.

"Aru, dekh na! Ashish aur Pawan neeche ghoom rahe hain," Sayli said, a smile forming on her lips. "Chal, unko join karte hain."

Arunita looked out the window, hesitating for a moment. "Unko enjoy karne de, Sayli. Hum bas yahi theek hain."

Sayli rolled her eyes, nudging her lightly. "Tu bhi na! Waise bhi, kya kar rahe hain hum yahaan? Chal, it'll be fun."

Aru sighed, knowing Sayli wasn’t going to let this go. "Fine, chal," she said, a little unsure, but she figured she had nothing better to do.

They made their way downstairs, Sayli in her usual energetic stride while Aru followed, her steps a little slower, her mind racing. She knew Sayli was close with Ashish and Pawan, but for her, it always felt a bit different. She knew them well enough but never really got past the polite exchanges.

As they approached, Ashish was the first to notice, waving in his usual carefree manner. "Aree, Sayli! Finally, tum log bhi aaye!" He grinned, while Pawan gave a small smile, looking a bit awkward himself.

"Hi Ashish, Pawan!" Sayli greeted them cheerfully, already blending into the conversation. "Hum bas tumhare bina bore ho rahe the, socha join kar lein."

Arunita stood slightly behind Sayli, managing a soft "Hi" as her eyes quickly met Pawan’s for a moment before shifting away.

As they exchanged greetings, Ashish turned to Arunita, noticing how quiet she was. "Arre Aru, tu itni chup kyun hai? Sab thik hai na?" he asked, his usual friendly tone bringing some warmth to the moment.

Arunita smiled softly but didn’t say much, still feeling a bit awkward. "Haan, bas aise hi," she replied, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.

Ashish chuckled. "Waise, tum dono kaafi similar ho," he said, glancing at Pawan. "Pawan bhi aise hi rehta hai. Pehle kuch nahi bolta, lekin jab jaan jao toh poori kahaani alag hoti hai."

Pawan shot him a look, half-amused. "Kuch bhi, yaar."

Ashish shrugged and replied, "Sach hi to bol raha hu."

Just then, Sayli's eyes lit up as she spotted the snacks counter in the distance. "Ohh, Ashish, dekho! Snacks counter khul gaya!"

Ashish perked up instantly. "Acha? Toh chalo, snacks ke bina toh maza nahi aayega," he said, already starting to walk in that direction with Sayli.

Sayli quickly turned to Arunita. "Aru, aa rahi hai na? Kuch snacks lenge kya?"

Aru shook her head, her smile small. "Nahi, main thik hoon."

Ashish, not one to miss out, asked Pawan, "Aur tu, snacks ka mood hai kya?"

Pawan simply shook his head. "Nahi yaar, tum log jao."

Sayli and Ashish walked off, chatting and laughing, leaving Arunita and Pawan alone in the garden.

As Sayli and Ashish walked away, the garden suddenly felt quieter, the only sounds coming from the faint breeze and distant laughter from the set. Arunita shifted awkwardly, not quite sure how to start a conversation.
