Leo's Adventure: The Mechanical Menace

Makeover

It's been 3 weeks since Lab has joined the Freedom Fighters. Both he and Ali have settled in nicely into the clubhouse. Each of them have taken an empty room.  Both of them have been doing well here, Ali is recovered from her abusive life and Lab is learning how to be a regular person again. The Freedom Fighters were all gathered around in the main hangout area of the clubhouse. In the main area, there was a living room area with a couch and a couple other chairs surrounding, a gym area, with an assortment of different machines and equipment. 

Leo, who is usually pretty active was passed out on the couch, asleep on Ali's lap. She giggled as she found it cute and let him stay asleep. Mesa and Lab were in the gym training, trying to 1 up each other, Belle was in her workshop cooking up some new inventions when Thomas comes in. "Hey y'all. Got the mail." "Thanks, dad. Leave it on the counter please." Belle calls out. He listens and sits down in an empty chair. "How's everyone doing?" He asks. "I'm doing just fine. Leo's passed out as you can see." Ali giggled. "Mesa? Lab?" The two hung up their weights and Lab responded. "Fine, just trying to prove to meathead over here I'm better than him." "Hah! You wish! You know I lift more than you!" The two started arguing. "Ugh! Guys! Shut up!" Belle said as she exited her workshop. "Hehe, boys will be boys Anabelle. Oh! Yeah thought I should tell you something. Saw something weird outside."  Lab turned to look at Thomas, signaling Mesa to stop for a second. "What'd you see?" "A figure. I don't know how to describe it really. It was in a tree behind the building. Only saw it for a brief moment, then it darted off. Looked like a person."

"A person?" Ali asks. "In a tree?" "Hey! I've seen that too. Thought my mind was playing tricks on me." Mesa added. "Yeah.. I thought I saw something like that before... I only started seeing it once we got back from the city." Belle said worried. Ali stood up accidently knocking Leo off the couch. "Oops! Sorry! Anyway, that's scary. Is it a stalker?!" Lab looked visibly disturbed. "What's wrong?" Thomas asked. Lab walked up to the main seating area and sat down. "I know what it is. Better yet, WHO it is." "What?!" "It's... my old friend." "Why didn't you tell us?" Ali asked. "She... She betrayed me. I don't want to get into it. I'll handle it." 

Everyone went quiet for a minute. Suddenly, Thomas broke the silence. "This isn't what I came over for... But! I have something for all of you!" He went outside and came back with 5 bags. Each one with one of their names on it. "Take these to your rooms, try it on and come back. It took me a long time to pick these out." Everybody shrugged and agreed. Everyone went to their rooms and came back one at a time.

First, was Ali. Her new outfit was a purple puffer jacket, unzipped revealing a white shirt with many small green and pink hearts all over. She has pink jean shorts with some black heel boots, with a holster for her hammer. Next, Mesa comes out, He gets a new, more vibrant version of his shirt, keeps his hoodie on his waist, he changes out his blue shorts for black ones, he also gets fist wraps and gets black combat boots. Belle comes out next, she keeps her orange undershirt but gains a black cropped hoodie over top, unzipped. She now has a black skirt with orange and black stockings, her shoes are orange and white laced up sneakers. Lab comes out next, he keeps his black undershirt, a black puffer jacket with red stripes spiraling down each sleeve, a red claw mark X on the back, black shorts with red streaks and black and red running shoes. Leo comes out last, he keeps his blue smiley shirt but gains a darker blue puffer jacket over top, a fingerless glove on his human arm, black cargo pants and blue and black tennis shoes.

"Wow, You guys all look great! I hope you all like it!" Thomas says excitedly. "Wasn't much going on before... I do like the red." Lab replied. "Don't look too different, but I feel like I look a lot better!" Mesa said with a grin. "I love it dad! You nailed my favorite colors!" Belle said giggling. "I was soooo bored with my outfit before. My hair was the only thing giving me any color. Thanks!" Leo just smiled and gave a thumbs up. "Glad you all like it. I gotta head home now. I'll see you all later." Thomas said as he left the building.

Everyone was complimenting each others new outfits but Lab was distracted. He was staring out the window. Making direct eye contact with 2 purple eyes in a tree. He started reaching for his gun when "Lab!" Belle yelled. "Huh?" "Did you hear me?" "No sorry." "I said I really like your jacket. Suits you." "Oh, thanks. You too." He said as he turned back to the window, but the eyes were gone.
