Remembered you too late -Yizhan ff-

Wang Yibo and Xiao Zhan, to unite their family, was bound by a marriage of convenience. Although it was only a marriage of convenience, they developed feelings for each other and had been living a happy life. Everything was going smoothly for them until, Yibo got into a car accident. Apparently, Yibo hit his head and is now diagnosed with amnesia.

-At the hospital-

"Who are you?" he questioned as he looked at Zhan with discerning eyes.

Everyone present was shocked when they heard Yibo's question that they turned immobile for seconds. They all looked at Zhan who was dumbfounded.

"Mr. Wang hit his head and he's currently diagnosed with amnesia." the doctor announced.

Everyone's expression dimmed when they heard Yibo's condition. The doctor noticed their expression and said "Don't worry, I guarantee you that he will regain his memories over time." The doctor reassured them.

The doctor left and Yibo's parents followed, leaving Zhan alone with Yibo.

Zhan walked to Yibo and held his hand.

"Yibo, can't you really remember me?" He asked.

Yibo didn't answer, instead he pulled away his hands from Zhan's hold. Zhan was dumbfounded by his action, why has his husband who has always liked holding his hands, now pulled away his hands?

"I asked who you were earlier, so of course I don't know who you are. What are you even doing here?" Yibo asked with cold tone which makes Zhan's disappointed because his husband can't remember him.

Zhan held Yibo's hand again and this time, Yibo didn't retracted his hands. He looked at Yibo in the eyes and introduced himself.

"I'm Xiao Zhan, I'm your husband, Yibo. We've been married for a whole year now and we were very happy."

This time, Yibo did retracted his hands from Zhan's hold. Not only did he pulled his hands, he glared at Zhan with disgust plastered on his face.

"Ew! what the hell are you talking about?! Me?! married?! to you?! wow! I can't believe my parents even let you in my room! you're so delusional! I'm not gay, I'm not married to a man!get out!" Yibo yelled.

Zhan was hurt by his words, but he didn't give up just yet and explained.

"We were married out of convenience only, it was to unite our family. After a long time being with each other's side, we learned to love each other, Yibo. You even said I was the only one you love aside from your family."

Despite Zhan's effort, Yibo didn't believe him, he didn't want to believe him. Yibo called his parents to come in and drag Zhan out.

"Mom! Dad! there's a lunatic inside my room! drag him out!" Yibo shouted.

Outside the room, Yibo's parents heard him and hurried inside Yibo's room, they really believed that there was indeed a lunatic inside their son's room. However, when they got inside, they were welcome with the sight of Yibo glaring at Zhan who was on the verge of crying.

"Yibo, where's the lunatic you're talking about?" Yibo's dad asked.

Yibo looked confused of why they didn't recognized who's he talking about so he pointed at Zhan.

"Dad, this gay here keeps on insisting that he's my husband. I'm not even married to anyone, especially to a men, I don't like men. Drag him out of here."Yibo said.

Yibo's mom looked at Zhan and asked him to go outside with her for a moment.

"Zhanzhan, let's give Yibo some space for now, don't take his words to heart. He can't recognize you now, but I'm sure he'll recognize you in the future." Yibo's mom patted Zhan's back and they went outside the room.

Now, it was only Yibo and his dad inside the room.

"Dad! why did you let that guy got inside my room anyway? make sure I won't see his disgusting face again."Yibo said.

"Yibo, he really is your husband, why won't you believe him?" Yibo's dad asked.

"What bullshit are y'all spewing?! I'm not gay! I'm not married to anyone! If you're taking his side, then get out!" Yibo yelled.

Yibo's dad sighed and left the room.

Yibo was confused, why would hid father also believe that lunatic, he's not gay and not married.

"Zhanzhan, why don't you go home for the meantime?" Yibo's mom suggested.

"I don't want to, I want to stay here. Mom, why can't he remember me? he said he loved me, why is it now that he's disgusted of me?" Zhan asked and he could no longer hold back his tears, he broke down and sobbed.

Yibo's mom stroke his back and pulled Zhan in a tight embrace.

"Zhanzhan, don't take what Yibo said to heart. He's not feeling well right now. Don't worry, he'll recognize you sooner or later. Don't be sad."

Yibo's mom tried her best to comfort Zhan but nothing works. She called Ziyi, Zhan's closest friend, to pick him up and take him home because Yibo's parents are gonna stay at the hospital for the time being.

After 20 minutes of waiting, Ziyi came and picked up Zhan.

"Zhan, let's go."Ziyi said.

Zhan trailed behind Ziyi as they went to the parking lot. When Ziyi was about to enter her car, Zhan said "Let's walk."

"Why?" Ziyi asked.

"I want to walk." Zhan said.

Ziyi no longer argued and agreed with Zhan's request.

"Ziyi, do you think Yibo will remember me?" Zhan asked.

"Zhan, stop worrying about it. I'm sure Yibo will remember you, after all he loved you so much, he will of course remember you soon. Just give him some time, he will remember you- no, he must remember you." Ziyi said and she hugged Zhan tightly and stroke his back.

After a while, they pulled away from the hug.

"Thanks, Ziyi-" Zhan halted when he heard a strange noise at the abandoned alley.

"Ziyi, let's check it out." He said and drag Ziyi along with him deeper and deeper to the abandoned alley.
