There once was a world where gods lived among mortals. There was a great city in that world and a labyrinthine dungeon beneath it. We are not starting there. Instead, we are starting on a mountain, at a floating city held in place by massive chains—the city of Technomancers known as Line Ark.

Technomancers: Individuals who can produce combat-capable magic technology, weapons, armor, and items ranging from the mundane to the fantastical. Technomancers are skilled artisans, mages, and warriors, but it's because of this diverse skill set that they have difficulty with familias

in a world where those with natural talent or good education and or training are the most likely to find success, there will always be those who will be spiteful and undermine those who would work for what they have.

Individuals in white cloaks attacked Line Ark, yet a single defender crushed their onslaught.

Evilus was halted at the gates of Line Ark by its hero, Steel Massimo. The ten-foot-tall moutan of a man, who was usually a gentle giant, was useing his halberd to cleave the death cultists in two while clad in advanced full-body armor.

Massimo's student and ward watched with pride and awe as his teacher and foster father fought and beat adventurers by the dozens.

But Evilus did not care for anyone, not even their own...

Evilus members charged Masimo, setting themselves ablaze while others hurled explosives at the hero with no regard for their allies. By the time the smoke cleared, Massimo was on one knee
but not in defeat, for he had one more card to play. Towering wing-like blades on the back of his armor emitted scarlet energy as Massimo pointed them at the vile cultists like a bull baring its horns in preparation to charge.

Soon, the roiling red energy blazed outwards, turning the attacking cultists to ash.

That day, Steel Massimo died from his injuries, defending Line Ark.

"Well, kid, that's everything. The airship will take you to Popsprocket, but you're on your own getting to Orario," said Cid Highwind, an older Technomancer. Airships were how folks got to and from Line Ark nowadays. After the Evilus attack and Massimo's death, security around Line Ark was stepped up monumentally.

Several things were developed.

Such as mana-from weapons, which consist of a weapon body with a blade of magic energy. They are powered by what is called a starstone, which is made by melting down and compressing a number of monster stones.

P.N.M.A. or Programmable Nano Metal Alloy is a metal that uses technomancy and metallurgy to make a material that can be reformed to predetermined states.

M.A.F. or Machina Armor Frame is a 10-foot-tall mechanized armor piloted by one technomancer and requires advanced technomancy knowledge to operate and maintain.

His student and ward Tec Lockwood made the first M.A.F. to resemble Steel Massimo.

It is called...

                                                                                   Rusty-Hart.

Twelve hours of travel later, tha airship passes tha miracle mile and, later, the Silent Line sensor field, thus officially leaving Line Ark territory.

The trip to Popsprocket was uneventful. Popsprocket used to be a small technomancer settlement, one of many dotted about the mountains worldwide, but now, the technomancer culture is taking refuge in the sky. The gods do not want them, so they are a family unto themselves. Save for one little goddess who wants only for a familia and a little rabbit looking for something to be a part of

After loading the transport vehicle, Tec had another day until they reached Orario. The transport in question was as wide as two semi trucks set side by side, as long as two set end-to-end, and as tall as two stacked on top of one another.

It had heavy armored plating, defensive beam turrets on the sides, and a rail gun on the top.

As they approached the vehicle's cab, the loose, rocky soil crunched under Tec's heavy mechanized boots. They climbed in, closed the door, and checked the console monitor, which showed the rear of the transport and a slew of other information. Tec stepped behind the driver's seat into the built-in HAB to make sure everything was put away.

A moment later, Tec sat in the driver's seat and slid a gray cartridge into a slot in the console.

Then, after securing his harness, he put the transport in drive.
