and you taught me a lesson, that feelings are reckless

Smiles lie. Tears are pretend. Sympathy is easy to fake when you've faked it your whole life.

Haider has no remorse for what he's done. In his eyes he's the hero. He's the noble knight who slayed the vicious dragon.

His plan worked perfectly.

He rushed back to his home and went to bed. He was awoken later by Nazeera who pounded on the door. She was barely holding back sobs, Haider almost felt bad, but then he realized the guilt he was feeling was only his brotherly instinct to protect his sister, not actual remorse.

By the time anyone discovered what had happened it was too late, Haider had planned everything to the last detail, there was no room for mistakes.

Haider was young when his father taught him how to contain fires. None of the other Supremes thought this would be a useful skill for their children, but Musa was insistent that Haider learn.

In the end it proved to be a quite convenient skill for Haider. He had made sure the fire wouldn't spread past her house, she was the only one who deserved to suffer.

Haider comforted Nazeera as she told him about the "tragedy" that just occurred.

Haider couldn't help smile as he held his sister. He knew Warner would learn about this soon, and soon enough Haider's arms would be comforting the grieving widower.

Haider was correct, Warner found out about wife's death exactly 127 minutes later. He arrived back at the Sanctuary within twelve hours, he looked as if he was about to die himself.

"Oh habibi!"  Haider said as he took in the sight of Warner, Warner just staggered into Haider's awaiting arms, there was nothing else he could do but cry.

Haider stroked Warner's hair affectionately, murmuring words of false comfort.

Eventually Haider was able to lure Warner into his apartment, he set him up on his couch and made him some food.

Warner didn't touch his food, he just stared at a blank spot on the wall. Warner's cold, emotionless demeanor had crumbled. Haider could see every emotion on Warner's perfect face as his beautiful emerald eyes glistened with tears.

"Oh habibi, don't waste your precious tears on her. She's dead."
