Chapter 1: Damn it!

It was a normal day in the hedgehog town, birds were chirping, the sun was high, and it was a beautiful weather on that day. What could ruin this beautiful moment of peace- Suddenly a noise of a brick wall collapsed in the background as a blue hedgehog who goes by Sonic lies on the ground injured. 

A black hedgehog with red stripes who takes the name Shadow approaches him as he looked dead serious at him with his hands ready to punch the living hell out of him again. Sonic slowly stands up while he held onto his chest with his gloved hand, trying to get into his fighting position. 

"Ready to meet your doom, hedgehog" Shadow said, menacingly to the other hedgehog right in front of him.

"Bring it" Sonic replied as he raised his fist up.

Shadow ran to him in full speed and punched him right in the stomach as it throws him off to the sky and was immediately hit back to the ground because Shadow teleported to him and kicked him to the ground again. Sonic lied there once more and tried to get up but was put down by the black hedgehog, putting his foot over his back and pinned him down.

Sonic pushed him off and kicked him back, causing him to lose balance of himself for a second before getting back to his feet. Sonic then punched him several times in the chest as he flew off to the nearest bench, getting a cut on the side of his arm as he bleeds out a bit. He slowly stood up with a hand on his cut to stop the bleeding a bit. 

They stood there, menacingly looking back at each other as they waited for one of them to make a move. A minute goes by as Shadow suddenly smirks evilly at him before teleporting out of the scene, they both had made.

"HA that's right you coward, disappear like you always do-" Sonic was cut off by the mayor calling out of his window.

"Sonic The Hedgehog! may I speak with you at once!" the mayor yelled out from his window before slamming it down in anger.

<An hour later>
The blue hedgehog sits on a chair as he waits to be called in, having an ice pack over his left bruised eye that a lady gave him earlier. Then a man walks out and leaves the door open as he walks out the building.

"Sonic, you may come in now" A man's voice said in the room, it was the mayors.

Before heading in, he puts the cold ice pack away in his quills before walking in his doom and demise. 

"Sit down" the mayor said as he looked towards the chair in front of his desk, Sonic sat down as silence went between them and the outside carnage both of Sonic and Shadow did again. 

"Do you know why I have you there today?" the mayor asked while he raised his left eyebrow to him.

"Um . . . because I'm the best?" Sonic said with an awkward smile.

"Wrong answer, because you and that black hedgehog have been causing panic and destruction in the town, so much so that people have been making complaints about the situation of you two!" the mayor then slammed papers of the complaints from multiple people, Sonic rolls his eyes and crosses his arms in annoyed.

"It's not my problem that he always starts he's shit" Sonic looked at the side, angry and furious at what he has to deal with.

Mayor sighed in frustration as he sits back in his seat and said in a stressed calm tone "if you can't stop this war of yours, then I'm gonna have to put you in two months suspension of not fighting."

The blue hedgehog's eyes widened as he immediately stood up and slammed his hands on the desk, looking directly at him.

"WHAT! you can't do this to me?!" Sonic yelled.

"I'm sorry but that's how it is, if you don't follow it then you will be thrown out of the hedgehog town again" mayor said, crossing his arms.

"Fine! good luck with egghead coming by as the only person who can beat him is ME!" Sonic said as he walked out and slammed the door hard on his way out.

As he walked towards the exit, his girlfriend and friends (Tails, Knuckles, Sticks, and Amy) was standing there waiting for him as they then saw him walk out angrily. 

"Sonic wait" Amy said as she ran in front of him.

"What happened in there? we heard that you went to the mayor's office of something?" Sonic explains everything to them as they were in shock about the news they were given.

"Are you serious?!" Tails said in shock.

"Yup, and if I don't follow it then I'll be thrown out of the town" Sonic said with an annoyed tone once more.

"But hey look at the bright side, at least you could spend more time with me and cool off for a bit" Amy said as she held onto his hands lovingly.

"Well, I guess you're right" Sonic said as he leaned over and kissed her cheek, she giggles softly and excitedly.

"Well, I have to go, I think some alone time would be good for me" Sonic said as he kissed Amy on the forehead as a goodbye kiss and let go of her to walk towards the exit.

"Bye Sonic, hope you feel better soon" Tails said as he waved goodbye to his best friend.

<With Shadow>
Shadow teleported to his place as he pulled out his house keys and walked in. Rouge was there eating leftover pizza from the fridge when she heard the front door open. She turned to say hi but saw horror as she saw Shadow bruised up and had a bit of blood coming out of his left arm. She immediately freaked out.

"Shadow! what the heck happened to you?! you look like you were in a fight with a bear!" Rouge said as she put him to sit down and grabbed the nearest medical supplies.

"It's more like a hedgehog then a bear" Shadow replied as he looked away.

"Please don't tell me that you fought with Sonic today, didn't you" Rouge said with a non-surprise look on her face while she bandaged his wounds up, he slowly nodded yes.

"Damn it Shadow! that's like the sixth time this month" Rouge said as she was alright done with bandaging up the wounds.

"How am I supposes to date that red handsome hunk of a man if you're here doing all of this" Rouge said as she was furious at him.

"Like I care" Shadow rolled his eyes in disgust as he got up and walked to his room upstairs to sleep the pain off.

He closed his door and fell down on his bed as he felt more comfortable in his room then the outside world. Shadow looked up and saw a picture of him and Maria smiling as that was the most precious moment for them. He felt sadness in that moment, looking at that picture brought memories to him as that was when his best friend was still alive.

He felt tears pouring down from his eyes as he could remember the time when she was so young and happy, making flower crowns for the both of them as they ran around and chased one of another. Sadly, all of that changed when a couple of man came in with armed guns as they only came for the ultimate life form himself.

Both of them ran as fast as they could while the armed man chased them from behind. Maria hides Shadow in a place where no one could find him. Shadow begged for her to hide but she said that she would distract them and come back once it was safe. 

Unfortunately, they caught up her and immediately shot her dead to the ground. That unfortunate memory scars him for days as he only wished that he would go back in time to save her and see her smile again in joy.
