Severin, the mechanical clown, walked through the dimly lit carnival grounds with his new friend. Litter was scattered around them, but they both didn't care. They were too interested in one another. Kristal paused and moved some hair from her face with one of her big hands. Severin looked back at her with a worried expression.
"You alright?" He asked her. Kristal only shrugged dismissively.
"I've had worse," she said. 'Much worse,' she thought to herself. Severin placed a gloved hand on her cheek and tilted her face up a bit.
"You're safe with me, y'know."
"You proved that earlier with that town drunk," Kristal snorted. The clown's hand lingered on her cheek a while. "I'm still getting used to this whole friend thing." Kristal backed up a step. "Normally people would see me walking with my hands because of my deformed legs and call me a freak... Or worse..." 'Much worse...'
Severin sighed and he removed his hand.
"As long as I'm not scrap, that won't happen to you," he swore with a serious look in his eye. A very faint blush flooded Kristal's face and she giggled.
"So dramatic," she joked. "C'mon, let's get some funnel cake."
