You saw him sitting in a corner, his hands were tied together and his face was serious and covered with bruises, blood, cuts and wounds.

You walked up to him curiously, Murphy saw you get close. He raised an eyebrow and looked up at you.

"What do you want?" He asked.

"Just checking up on you, Bellamy told me to." rain replied. You were a few steps away from him. He was resting his chin on his knees.

"Yeah, right."

He scoffed and rolled his eyes. "As if he cares about me."

You saw the bruises all across his face, his knuckles was scrapped up, and his shirt was torn and dirty.

"He wants to make sure you don't escape." You said, sitting on the ground next to him.

He chuckled. "I'm not stupid, I have no chance of escaping in the middle of forest with my hands tied together."

You both sat in silence for a few seconds before you spoke up.

"Does it hurt?" You asked with a hint of concern in your voice. He raised an eyebrow, clearly surprised at your question.

"What, these?" He chuckled and gestured to his face. "Nah, they're nothing." He said, trying to act tough.

You studied his face. Some of the cuts were deep and some seemed new. He clearly tried to cover up his pain with sarcasm.

You got up.

Murphy frowned, confused about where you were going.

"Where are you going?" He asked, watching you stand up.

"to get stuff to clean you up." I said.

Murphy's eyes widened a bit in surprise. No one ever really took care of him, he was used to taking care of himself.

"You don't have to do that." He said, trying to hide the slight hint of vulnerability in his voice.

"too late." I said walking away then coming back with a first aid.

You returned with the first aid kit and Murphy watched you walk over and sit next to him once more.

"You're seriously gonna try and treat me?" He asked, eyebrow raised.

"Yep." You said simply, opening the kit.

Murphy huffed but didn't argue. He just sat there and let you clean him up, wincing slightly as you touched his wounds.

As you cleaned his wounds, you couldn't help but notice how attractive he was. His face was chiselled and sharp, it was hard to deny that he was good looking.

Murphy seemed more relaxed now than he had been before, he actually seemed somewhat comfortable with you taking care of him.

"This doesn't mean I'm suddenly your friend, you know." He said, his usual tough tone coming back.

You chuckled softly and continued cleaning his wounds. "I don't remember asking you to be my friend."

He just rolled his eyes and leaned his head back against the tree bark.

"Good." He said stubbornly. He was quiet then, letting you work. Every now and then, he flinched as you dabbed an alcohol-soaked cotton ball against a sensitive spot.

After a few moments, you finished cleaning up his wounds and wrapped some gauze around his head where a deep cut was.

Murphy looked at the gauze, then up at you. He seemed almost grateful, though he tried to hide it. "Thanks." He muttered.

You smiled slightly, knowing that he was trying to hide his appreciation. "You're welcome." You said before packing up the first aid kit.

Murphy just sat there, looking at you with his usual cocky expression.

"Why are you being nice to me?" He asked suddenly.
You paused and looked at him surprised.

"What do you mean?" You asked, slightly confused.

Murphy shrugged. "You don't even know me. Why are you trying to help me?"
You shrugged back. "Because you look like you need help." You said simply

He raised an eyebrow. "You make it sound like I'm weak or something."

You rolled your eyes. "I didn't say that. But you can't deny that you took a pretty bad beating."

He huffed, looking away. "I can take care of myself just fine."

You scoffed. "Sure, that's why you're sitting here bleeding and bruised."

"Shut up." He muttered. "I don't need anyone's pity."
You sighed. "It's not pity. It's just common decency."

You heard Clarke's voice calling out to you from a distance. Murphy looked over as well and raised an eyebrow, curiosity now in his expression.

You looked at him, then back at Clarke who was gesturing for you to come over.

"Looks like you're needed elsewhere." Murphy said sarcastically.

You stood up and brushed the dirt off your clothes. "Don't go anywhere." You warned him jokingly before walking away.

He just rolled his eyes again and leaned back against the tree.

You made your way over to Clarke who looked serious as always. "What's up?" You asked.

"Me and a few others are leaving for Mount Weather I need you to watch Murphy." She said.

You nodded. "Yeah, sure." You said, already knowing that Murphy wouldn't give you any trouble.

You stole a glance back at him, noticing how he was still leaning against the tree, looking bored.

Clarke followed your gaze then looked back at you. "He's a pain in the ass, but you can handle him, right?" She asked.

You chuckled and shrugged. "I'll manage. I've dealt with worse."
Clarke smiled slightly at your confidence but didn't say much else.

You watched as Clarke and the others walked away.

You then turned back to Murphy, noticing that he was still sitting in the same spot, now looking even more bored than before.
