Malik and Rickey were still reeling from the loss of Sey. The stone chamber felt like a tomb, cold and suffocating, as they searched desperately for any sign of her. Then, in the dim light, Sey appeared, stumbling out of the shadows, her face ashen, and her eyes filled with fear.
"Sey!" Rickey's voice cracked as he rushed towards her.
Malik followed, relief flooding his senses. But something in the back of his mind nagged at him, something that felt... off. But seeing Sey alive pushed those thoughts aside.
"Sey, how did you escape?" Malik asked, his eyes searching hers for any sign of the terror they had all just faced.
"I don't know," Sey whispered, her voice trembling. "One moment I was surrounded by shadows, and the next, I was here. I thought I was lost."
Rickey hugged her tightly, the fear and tension of the last few hours momentarily forgotten. Malik stood back, watching, a strange unease still lingering. But Sey was here, and that was all that mattered. They needed to focus on finding a way out.
The three of them pressed on, searching the chamber for any clues, but every time Malik glanced at Sey, he couldn't shake the feeling that something wasn't right. Her movements were just a little too stiff, her voice just a little too soft, almost as if she was mimicking her own fear.
Over the next few hours, as they explored the winding, dark corridors of the mansion, Sey's behavior grew stranger. Malik noticed how she avoided looking him in the eye, how she seemed to know the layout of the mansion too well, leading them away from potential exits and into dead ends.
Rickey didn't seem to notice, too relieved to have her back. But Malik's suspicions grew, his mind racing with doubts.
Was this really Sey?
