Plot

"Nel..nelle"*I heard my mothers voice as she softly shook me awake, I rubbed my eyes

"Good morning Mami" I say sitting up in my bed

"I'm sorry I awake you a bit early I just don't want you to hear your father yell"*she says brushing a strand of my hair behind my ear

"It's okay..what's for breakfast?"
"Eggs and toast? Is that okay?"
I nod before swinging my legs to sit next to my mom

"Mom do you know when loe will come back?"
Loe was my older brother, he was away at college. I always went to him when I was sad but now that he's gone I don't have anyone

"Soon baby" she holds me close kissing the Top of my head

Later that day I was just laying on the couch checking my phone when I got a text from
a unknown number, it read "Hii nelle this is Mira from 5th period" oh good it's just her

"Hii miraa!"*I text back

"Omg school was so boring todayyy"

"For reall I want it to be summer break already"

"SAMEEE"

*my mom calls my name from upstairs

"Hey Mira can I text you in a bit my moms calling me"

"Yeah ofc I'll see ya laterr"
I turned my phone off putting it in my pocket as I get up making my way upstairs to my mom, as I enter the room I see her sitting on her bed with her phone in her hands

"What's wrong ma"

"Your grandpas back in the hospital and his not doing so well"

I immediately hug her, she hugs me back

"What happened with him?"

"His leg got infected again and his struggling to breath again"

I shigh, my grandpas been in and out of the hospital, we don't know what's wrong but my grandma thinks it's just cuz he's getting older. I really need him to survive just a little longer, I can't live without my grandpa

*ar school on momday*

"Omg Mira stop there's no way he actually said that!" I laugh

"I swear he said 'w-well I like you because you have hair'" we laugh together, this boy in 3rd period has a crush on Mira and as been trying to get with her but doesn't know how to flirt

"Oh nelle do you wanna hangout today??"

"Uhh yesss!!!"

"YAYAYA!!"

"Wait ima text my mom rn!!"

               *mami 💖*
"Maaaa"
"What is it nel"
"Can I hangout with my new friend Mira??"
"Sure just your dad will have to pick you up"
"Oh okay it's fine"
"Okay bye nelle 🩷"
"Bye mami love you"
             *end of convo*
"Okay my mommy said yes!!!"
"Omg yay!!"
.....
*later at Mira's*
As we enter her house Mira's little puppy sky comes and jumps on me

"Aww hi baby" I pick sky up and she pee's on me (this always happens when I see her irl cuz she's still a baby 💖)

*I giggle setting him down and going to the bathroom to clean my sweat shirt

I come out and see Mira sitting on the couch while. Sky jumps on her, I go sit next to her

"So what are we gonna do?" *she looks away from her phone thinking"hmm we could do slime?"*I smile nodding

Once we finish making slime it was about 6:45pm and my mom wanted me home so I called my dad

*call*
"Alo pa?"
"Que paso"
"Puedes recogerme, estoy en la casa de mi amiga mira"
"¿Y quién te dijo que podías ir?"
"Mami"
"Ok pero la próxima vez pregúntame primero"
"Okay pa"
"Ya me vengo bye"
*he hangs up*

Mira looks to me in shock
"What?"
"Hablas español??"
"Si"
She smiles
...
My dad arrived and knocks on the door, I get up and walk to the door putting my shoes on and opening the door, as I open the door only a bit or at least so I could make it out my dad just stepped in

Mira sees him come in uninvited and looks at him wierd

"Dad what's wrong"
"Nothing.."*he steps out and starts walking back to the car, I follow closing the door
