" Now remember what we agreed Sparky." My dad said as he scrolled his phone in the fancy Black Rolls Royce that my dad rented out to take me to my new school.
"Yes yes. This is my last chance. If I graduate without any "accidents" then I'll be able to go to college early." I said rolling my eyes while facing the window of the car, where my eyes were glued to the miles and miles of green fields that we passed as we drove towards the main administration block.
We had entered the main gate of the school twenty minutes ago and we have been driving up the well tarmaced road that passed in between endless green fields and the occasional woodland forests scattered all over the property. For a school with such a small population, it sure occupied a large piece of land. And I was a hundred percent sure that they barely even used fifty percent of it.
"I have no doubt you'll fit right in here sweetie." Mum said beside me, throwing a small smile my way before she too went back to scrolling through the screen of her I pad.
"Yeah because I have a very charming personality..." I thought to myself sarcastically. Sometimes I wonder if my mum has this fucked up image of me being the perfect daughter who was beautiful and popular. Who was super social and would have everyone at her beck and call because she was radiant and magnetic that way. In other words, her aura could be seen from miles away.
Unfortunately, I'm anything but. In fact, had it not been for the few times, okay more than a few, times that I had been caught "in the act" I would practically be invisible to the outside world. Not that I minded. I thrived in it. I liked not being the center of attention. Is it because I'm the middle child? Is it a trait for all middle children to be introverted?🤔🤔
"Try to make friends. Getting into a school like this is already a once in a lifetime chance. Use that to make the right connections. They'll go a long way." My dad added after a couple of minutes of silence passed and by then we could see a castle looking structure in the distance. Which had already peaked my curiosity and now I was excited to see how it actually looked up close.
Since it was late afternoon, the sun rays hit the vintage gothic structure walls, making it look majestic in the golden glow. Instead of looking like a spooky castle in a horror movie, it looked like an "epic adventure/ fantasy" castle.
It was no secret that was an avid fan of epic adventure/ fantasy/paranormal themed movies and series. And the idea that I was going to be going here for an entire year was like a dream come true.
In my mind, I was doing an excited dance to the crunk mixx blasting through my earpods into my ears while fantasizing about all the things I was going to do, places I was going to explore and adventures I was going to have here for a year.
"Sparky!" My mum nudged me and I turned to see her and my dad's annoying twin gazes and took out one of my earpods while pausing the music player on one of my phone's, currently safely situated on my laps.
"Can't you take your earphones off while we are still with you? I mean, we only have less than an hour to spend together before we leave and we won't see you for another three months." Mum complained with a pout that made me annoyed at her attempt at being cute, while it made my dad glare harder at me for causing my mum's distress.
"It would be a lot less if the time would move any faster. But I guess wishes can't be horses in the fantasy land." I said in my head, rolling my eyes in my mind. If I actually rolled my eyes at them, my mum would blow one of her veins. And I don't want a bloody murder scene just yet. Not on one of my favorite days ever.
"The least you could do is show a bit of respect and emotions especially since you won't be around family." My dad scolded and I released a small inaudible sigh.
Here we go. This would be the 52nd time today they've scolded me. This isn't even the average of my "parents Scolding" quota of the day. I have to commend them since they had really tried that day to keep the scolding and disapproving looks to a minimum that day. Maybe, just maybe it was because they actually would miss me while I was away at a fancy boarding school, in a country miles away, in addition to it being in a different continent.
