Catalina's heart pounded in her chest as she knelt beside Blaze, her hands trembling. "Blaze, I'm so sorry," She cried, tears streaming down her face . The realization of what she had done hit her like a ton of bricks. This was exactly what her darker self wanted. To isolate her, to make her push away the people she cared about. Blaze winced, clutching his side where the blast had hit him. "Catalina, what happened? You were..different," he said, his voice strained with pain and confusion. She shook her head, trying to make sense of the whirlwind of emotions and memories that had consumed her. "I don't know. It's like there's a part of me that I can't control. And it's getting stronger." Blaze reached out, His hand finding hers despite the pain."We will figure this out. Together."
Catalina took a deep breath, trying to steady her racing heart."But how? How do we fight something that's inside of me?" She asked, her voice barely above a whisper. Blaze looked thoughtful for a moment, wincing as he adjusted his position."We need to understand it first. Maybe there's a way to control it, to use it without letting it take over." Catalina frowned, uncertainty clouding her features. "You think it can be controlled?" Blaze nodded slowly. "I believe so. But we'll need help. Maybe Atlas or someone who understands these kinds of powers." Catalina felt a flicker of hope ignite within her. "You're right. We can't do this alone. We need to find out more about this darkness and how to keep it at bay."
Blaze managed a weak smile. "Exactly. And no matter what happens, we'll face it together. I promise." Catalina squeezed his hand, feeling a renewed sense of determination. "Thank you, Blaze. For believing in me even when I don't believe in myself." Blaze's eyes softened. "You're stronger than you think, Catalina. We'll get through this. One step at a time."Catalina felt a flicker of hope ignite within her. "You're right. We can figure this out," she said, her voice gaining a bit more strength. But as she looked into Blaze's eyes, she saw the pain and confusion there, and it tore at her heart.
Later that night, after Blaze had fallen asleep, Catalina sat by the window, staring out into the darkness. The memory of her aunt's death replayed in her mind, and she felt the familiar pull of her darker self. It was on that fateful night that everything had changed. She had been with Blaze, seeking comfort in his presence when the news came. Her aunt, the only family she had left, was gone.
Blaze had held her as she cried, but something inside her had snapped. The grief and anger had given way to a darker force, one that she couldn't control. She remembered the look of fear in Blaze's eyes as she unleashed her powers, the blast that had hit him, and the realization that she had hurt the one person who had always been there for her.
As the night wore on, Catalina made a silent vow to herself. She would find a way to control this darkness, to harness it without letting it consume her. She couldn't afford to lose Blaze or Atlas, not when they were the only ones who believed in her.
The next morning, Catalina woke to find Blaze already up, his injuries bandaged but still evident. One evening, as they set up camp by a serene lake, Blaze turned to Catalina. "Do you ever wonder what it would be like if things were different? If we didn't have to fight this darkness?"Catalina sighed, looking at the reflection of the moon on the water. Knowing what darkness Blaze was talking about. But, Catalina only responded with the reflections of her own fight, with her inner darkness. "Yes I believe it would be very, very different. Said Catalina." As the night came along she couldn't help but see that Atlas was very distant. "Hey Atlas what's wrong, you seem very distant. Is everything okay? "Um, actually no. There is something I have to tell you, Catalina. Said Atlas." Catalina looked confused as she didn't know what it was. "Catalina, yesterday I got a call from the village doctor. He said that..Yes? Catalina, your aunt, died. Said Catalina and Atlas." Catalina stood there in silence as she didn't know what to do. She didn't know whether to cry or to throw something. But, all she could do was stand there in silence with pain in her suffering heart. What can you do with a suffering heart that keeps getting stabbed and could break at any moment. "Catalina is everything okay? Asked Blaze. "No, how could anything be ok, is it okay that you learn that your own close aunt died. Said Catalina."
