Chapter 1
"Ahh!" I scream while Jayden run me down with a may bug . With carefree spirits, we frolic like children, our hair dancing in the breeze, and our laughter echoing through the air, filling our hearts with joy and our souls with freedom.
I tripped and fell, and as I sat up, I heard a laugh that sounded familiar. But when I looked around, I saw it wasn't Jayden who was laughing . I looked up to see Aries, my childhood best friend, standing there. We haven't always seen eye-to-eye, but we've always had each other's backs. It was a shock to see him, considering he'd moved away five years ago without even saying goodbye.
He was dieing with laughter, then extended a hand to help me up from the floor. 'Aries!' Jayden exclaimed, his voice laced with surprise. I was taken aback by the transformation before me - the once scrawny, short, and dark-haired boy had blossomed into a towering figure, standing at around 6'11" with a muscular build and a shocking new hairstyle, his bleach-blond locks now sporting vibrant orange roots. The change was nothing short of astonishing.
I brushed myself off and joked, 'Wow, you finally decided to say goodbye... five years later! You can just keep it, no need to bother.' Aries chuckled and replied, 'Actually, I didn't forget anything. I'm moving back, and I'm surprised you guys haven't changed much. You're still as childish as ever!'
I felt a surge of annoyance at his teasing remark about us being childish, but my excitement about his return won out. 'How long are you back for?' I asked, trying to sound casual despite my mixed emotions. 'Just for this school year,' he replied. 'I'll be finishing up here. Anyway, see you around, butterfly! Hey, Jayden, we should catch up!' With that, he turned and walked back to his house, leaving me to process our unexpected reunion.
After that emotional reunion, I continued with my day. In the afternoon, I headed to the river, a place I adore for its soothing sounds of wind rustling through the trees and the gentle lapping of the water. The view is breathtaking, and I never tire of watching the sunset and capturing its beauty through photos to treasure in my album of the world's loveliest moments.
I got there and heard a big splash. The old tire swing was moving like someone was on it. I dropped my towel on the grass, took off my shirt and shoes, and jumped in. The water was cold and refreshing, and I felt the fish swimming around my feet. I pushed my hair back and just relaxed.
"Ahh!" I screamed as someone grabbed my feet. I thought I was a goner, but then they let go and I popped up to see Aries laughing at me. "Hey, Butterfly!" he said, messing with me. I splashed water in his face, shouting, "Don't call me that!" But he just splashed me back and we started goofing around, splashing and playing like kids.
After a while of playing, we made our way to the water's edge, laughing and collapsing onto the grass like we used to in the old days. He gazed at me with a smile and said, 'Hey, remember when we were kids and you, Jay, and I decided to run away and ended up here?' I grinned, replying, 'How could I forget? We intended to just take a quick dip, but we got caught up in playing and lost track of time!' He chuckled, 'Yeah, and you and Jay found a crab and chased me down with it until I got used to it!' I burst out laughing at the memory. 'And then Jay broke his hand, I got a fever, and you tried to take the blame for everything!' We both smiled as the sun began to set. I pulled out my camera and captured the moment, preserving the smile as we watched the sun disappear below the horizon.
The next day, I felt refreshed and ready to face the day. I strolled through my stunning flower garden, admiring the vibrant blooms, when Jayden appeared beside me, his paints and canvas in hand. We sat together on a bench, surrounded by nature's beauty, as he brought the flowers to life with his brush strokes and sweet melodies. His talent and joy were infectious, and I couldn't help but smile at his charming smile and the way his eyes sparkled when he sang. My garden, a tranquil oasis in the heart of the community, was a haven for both of us, a place where beauty and creativity flourished
