screams echoed through our alleyway. Not screams of excitement or fear, screams of pain. the screams that were coming out of my parent's fort were obnoxious and could probably make my ears bleed. it was my mother screaming, and there was lots of pounding on the floor. maybe she was having another horrendous panic attack? that couldnt be right, since i heard my dad. when i heard him starting to shout, everything froze within me. so did the world, the only thing i could register and focus on were the blood-curdling screams coming from my mom, and the grim shouting coming from my dad. but, this wasnt a normal fight, it was something more. much more. more dangerous, more severe. I crept towards my parents fort and peeked through the curtain when i got close enough. I definitely wasnt prepared for what i saw. my dad had a bloody fist, and a knife in his other hand. he also had blood splattered on his chin. I studied his expression for a moment, noticing that his eyes didnt show any trace of guilt, shock of even regret. just pure rage.
