Remi Hargreeves / Number Nine

Now here's the dumb liro one shot 🐭

Remi had just finished a shift from their job as a waitress. They walked into the apartment they shared with a roommate, who had probably gone clubbing for the night. It was nine p.m. so this meant Remi's roommate wouldn't be back for another few hours.

As they walked into their room, they saw a carefully placed envelope on their bed. Remi was skeptical as they slowly stepped towards it, picking it up and examining it. They ripped it open and read the letter inside.

Remi Hargreeves, you have been cordially invited to the most fantastic night of your life in the following location: Twin Pines Hotel, room 1634. We'll be expecting you ;)

– someone you love very much

Remi scrunched their nose as they finished reading the message. "What the fuck?" they muttered under their breath. With a shrug, they figured it was worth a try. If it was some sort of trap, Remi missed fighting anyway. They just wanted to not be bored, especially tonight out of all nights.

Once at the hotel, Remi knocked on the hotel room door, not knowing what to expect. It was quickly opened by a familiar face. "Rem-Rem, you made it!" Klaus exclaimed, pulling Remi by the arm into the room. He shut the door behind them.

To Remi's realization, this was a little scheme set up by Klaus, and of course, he couldn't have done it alone. Seven out of nine Hargreeves siblings were there — Five was still missing and Ben was deceased.

Giz was sitting on the floor, a joint in her mouth. Allison was sitting on the edge of one of the hotel beds, seemingly confused. Luther was sitting on the other bed, a little more relaxed than Allison. Diego was next to Giz on the floor, fiddling with a dagger. Viktor was sitting on a chair in the very corner of the room, keeping to himself.

"What's going on..?" Remi asked, their voice trailing off as they turned to Klaus who was wearing a party hat. Remi then sighed. "Klaus—"

"Who's ready to get their party on?" Klaus asked with a laugh, beginning to throw a party hat to everyone in the room. He passed one to the empty space next to him, and when it fell to the floor, Klaus looked up and said "Oh, I forgot."

"I don't think—" Klaus placed the party hat, snapping the elastic band on Remi's neck. "Ow! You fucker!" Remi exclaimed, hitting Klaus's arm.

"A 'thank you' would be appreciated," Klaus replied with a scoff, turning to look at everyone in the room.

Allison looked down at the party hat she was holding, eyeing the design. She let out a small smile. "When was the last time we celebrated our birthday together?" she asked, reminiscing.

Diego scoffed. "When was the last time we celebrated our birthday, period?" he corrected her. "Instead of a cake, Dad would make us all spar against each other."

"You know what I meant," Allison snapped at Diego, swallowing a knot in her throat.

"I... did miss you, guys," Luther mumbled, putting on the party hat carefully. "Let's just not fight this one night."

"Oh, Number One making peace again," Giz coughed out, smoke exiting her mouth. "You should run for president," she suggested, but no one could tell if she was serious or not.

"I'm guessing you wrote the letter," Remi walked towards Giz and took a seat next to her, slapping the opened envelope on her lap.

"That I did," Giz agreed with a nod, her eyes bloodshot. She pointed at Klaus. "But this was all his idea."

"Happy 21st birthday, guys," Viktor spoke up from the corner of the room, the party hat already on his head. He gave a small smile and a nod.

Remi turned to him and smiled too. "Happy birthday, Vik," they replied. "To all of you."

Diego continued fiddling with the knife in his hand, not making eye contact with anyone. Remi crawled to his side. They placed a party hat on his head very softly. "Happy birthday, grumpy," they teased.

Klaus giggled. "Happy I will be when all of us get high together!" He threw his hands up in the air, multiple joints raining down on the siblings.

"Klaus!" Allison scowled at him. "What the hell!?"

"I'm already way ahead of you," Giz announced. A slap to her face caused the joint to slip from her lips and fall to the floor. She held her cheek and turned to Klaus with wide eyes. "What the fuck!?"

"How dare you, you stole that from me before I got a chance to surprise everyone!" Klaus argued. Meanwhile the hotel carpet was beginning to smoke due to the joint.

"Guys, the carpet—" Luther nervously said.

"Shit," Remi muttered, quickly grabbing the joint from the floor. With their other hand, they waved towards a glass of water that was sitting on a bedside table. The water levitated and hovered all the way to the spot on the carpet. Remi sighed out in relief.
