"I was scared, I didn't know what to do so I blamed you." Da Jeong turned to her as she spoke, clutching onto the cup in her hands," I didn't think they'd kick you out the program for it, I really didn't!"
"You still blamed me and did nothing when I got removed from the program" Bok su said, without sparing a glance at her. A feeling of desperation slowly started to consume Da Jeong. She couldn't spend another sleepless night thinking of what could've been and how every time she entered a surgery room she felt her insides churn at the memories. She needed to make things right once and for all.
"I know and I said I was sorry." Da Jeong said, though her words fell on deaf ears. Bok Su's ignorant behavior was starting frustrate Da Jeong. She felt her eyes water and her throat run dry as she harshly put the cup into her basket. The noise seemed to have intrigued Bok Su.
"Sorry doesn't exactly fix the fact that you're responsible. I never got to finish the course and you never got to finish your wedding." Bok Su spat out, putting a cup into her basket as she looked for another.
It was quiet. None of the two said anything. While Bok Su was looking through the noodle section, a sob broke the silence. Da Jeong was sobbing. Bok Su didn't seem to care as she picked up another cup and shook it.
"I didn't mean it, I was scared." She said in between sobs. Her mascara was starting to come off, running down her face and ruining her beauty.
"You're crying in a convenience store isle, Da Jeong." Bok su said, throwing the cup into her basket, "People are going to start staring."
"You don't understand," She cried, trying to wipe away her tears, "the guilt of being responsible for your removal has never left me, Bok Su."
Bok Su turned to Da Jeong, watching as her face stained with mascara. She silently brought up her thumb to Da Jeong's face, only to stop and retrieve her hand before silently walking out the isle, leaving the other to console herself.
Da Jeong stood up and wiped away her tears before looking up at the cup noodles that were on the shelves. She was a few won short anyway, so why even waste time in trying to buy something she couldn't afford? Walking out the isle and over to the cashier, Da Jeong placed her items onto the conveyer belt. The cashier smiled at her before scanning her items.
Within less than a minute, Da Jeong was out the store and pacing over to her car in a hurry. She wanted to go home and forget everything about tonight. As she opened the trunk of her car and loaded her grocery in, a familiar voice made her pause her actions.
"Da Jeong!" Bok su yelled, running over to where Da Jeong stood in the parking lot. She handed her a familiar cup of noodles, specifically the one Da Jeong had to remove.
"You don't really have the energy to cook anything complicated after long shifts, so here." Bok Su said, placing the cup in her hand. Da Jeong kept her eyes on Bok Su, the same old tenderness in her eyes from all those years ago. She threw herself onto Bok Su, giving the woman a tight hug.
"Thank you, thank you!" Da Jeong thanked as she buried her head on Bok Su's shoulder. The other awkwardly wrapped her arms around Da jeong, unaware of what to do. To be frank, Bok Su wasn't expecting Da Jeong to completely jump at her, but she was fine with it.
"Why don't we go over to my house?" Bok Su suggested, pulling away from Da Jeong and letting her wipe her tears, "It'd be better than resolving whatever we have in a parking lot."
Da Jeong sniffed and nodded, grabbing onto Bok Su's arm and leading her over to the passenger seat in her car. Da Jeong closed her trunk before hurrying over to the driver's seat and starting up her car. The ride to Bok Su's apartment was silent aside from Bok Su giving Da Jeong instructions. It didn't take long for them to park near Bok Su's apartment and head in.
