Prologue

[Miles' POV]

"It's getting late, may aasikasuhin pa ko", unti-unti akong bumibitaw sa mga kamay niya. 

"Kapag umalis ka, it means...we're over."

"Ano?"

I didn't expect her to hold my wrist, no Miles, don't fall for this again, you can't. 

"Pati ba naman ikaw iiwan mo na rin ako?" 

"Stop this Arya, halika na, ibabalik na kita doon sa inyo."

"Hindi, let them say what they want, I don't care anymore." , wika ni Arya. 

"You've had too much to drink, akin na yan.", I tried to grab the bottle from her as soon as she tried to reach for it again. 

"Kasalanan nilang lahat kung bakit ako nagkakaganito, at ikaw din."

I can't stand this anymore, noon palang dapat pinigilan ko na yung feelings that I had for her. I regret ever falling in love with her, why am I even doing this?

"Let's face it, we should've ended everything that happened between us before, what we were is all in the past now. Sige na, I'm taking you home--" 

"--No, hindi ako aalis dito nang hindi mo pinapaliwanag sakin lahat..." 

"And this is how you want us to talk? Magpapakalasing ka na lang so you could have me come look for you? Nagsalita yung taong nagpaasa sa wala---"

"---I came to talk to you that night pero wala akong naabutan dun.", unti-unting bumuhos ang luha ni Arya nang siya'y magsalita. 

"Inisip ko na maybe if I waited a bit longer, dadating ka, pero hindi eh. Hindi mo alam yung hirap na naranasan ko these past four years Miles, bakit mo ko iniwan?"

"Fine, you want to know what happened Arya? Sige I'll tell you, my life was in danger because of them at sila ang rason kung bakit hindi tayo nagkita."

"What are you talking about? Why are you suddenly dragging them into this?" 

"Why don't you ask them? Besides gusto mo malaman ang totoo diba, hayaan mong sila ang magsabi sayo. All these years, niloloko ka nila at bulag ka pa rin!", nang sambitin ito ni Miles ay sinampal siya ni Arya. 

"Sila yung mga taong tumulong sa akin simula nung nawala ka. They're part of the reason why I got back on my feet.", hinawi ni Miles ang kanyang buhok sa tindi ng galit niya sa binigkas ni Arya. 

"But lo and behold, you're engaged to whom you've despised all this time? Arya, gamitin mo naman utak mo for once or maybe I was just too blind back then for you to use me to make him want to take you back."

"Kailanman hindi ako nagloko nung naging tayo Miles, everything I felt, everything I told you, I meant all of them. Ang problema kasi sayo puro ka pangako pero hindi mo naman pala kayang tuparin. And I hate myself right now because after all this time, I still love you!"

"What?", mahinahong wika ni Miles. 

"Stop using your "feelings" against me Arya, it's not gonna work this time."

"Kung hindi mo din ako mahal, then why are you here? Just admit it Miles, tell me everything you say you know. Let me hear it."

And that's how my story with Arya Grace Arceta began.
