Hello Felix!: Part 2

Start from the beginning

Jones's head snapped toward Jackson, his brows furrowing as his muscles tensed. He leaned forward. "We need to get out of here, now." His tone a hurried whisper that echoed through the space.

Jackson furrowed his brows slightly, feeling a pulse of adrenaline as well. "What about the book?" He murmured.

Feeling torn between the desire to quickly escape or further investigating the book's inexplicable nature, Jones bit his lip before murmuring back. "We'll take it with us."

Jackson widened his eyes, furrowing his brows deeper. "You think we can run with this... beast of a book? I-"

He was swiftly interrupted by a subtle shift that echoed in the room, making both of their expression turn grim, radiating something foreboding. Without hesitation, the duo lifted the abnormal book.

And with effortless yet unspoken coordination, they sprinted down the corridors and weaved past the towering bookselfs, executing deft maneuvers fueled by adrenaline and the primal instincts to escape the library's grandiose labyrinth. They vaulted over plush ottomans and slipped by the luxurious chairs narrowly, hearts pounding with every step.

Finally making it to the stairs, quickly hurrying down, they heard an eerie, dark growling that rumbled into snarling that floated towards them sending a chill down their spines, followed by thunderous paw steps that reverberated like a drumbeat that closed the distance expeditiously.

Our dynamic duo redoubled their efforts, unwilling to find the outcome if they stayed any moment longer, their movements deprived of their previous grace and superseded with frantic shouts and desperate strides.

Jackson felt his arms weakened as he felt every breath scratch his throat. "We should've left this stupid book behind Jones!"

Jones's chest heaved as he shot back sharply, mimicking Jackson's movements. "You're the one who brought it up!" He retorted feeling sweat trickle across his face.

Then the ground trembled beneath their feet and the neglected books that were scattered across the ground began to ominously levitate into the air.

Jackson frowned with a grimace. "Oh, we're in deep **** now, Jones!"

Jones cursed on his breath, contemplating the nature of this day, wondering if he was in some twisted Sicom. "First, my siblings, mother, and father died, and now this?!" He screamed in his head feeling a tempest mixture of emotions, closing his eyes tightly shut to hold back the floodgates.

Before one of the floating books, trained and darted towards them like a homing missile, aimed dangerously at their heads.

Jackson shouted, his eyes flashing open with adrenaline. "Jones! Duck!"

Almost as if was by instinct, they both narrowly ducked the charging book, before it crashed into a support beam, that echoed resoundingly through the halls, making the ceiling of the library groan and the walls begin to slowly sway.

Jackson's eyes were peeled open as he stared at Jones in disbelief. "Jones! What were you doing with your eyes closed? Do you think you're Goku?!"

Jones shot back at Jackson. "Are you suffering the loss of your loved ones right now?"

Jackson continued. "No, but we're about to meet yours right now! I understand you going throw something but we have to get out of here alive."

Jones raised his voice, his eyes flashing open with anger. "You're the one who got us in this mess in the first place! We could've been at home right now but no! You took us to a death trap!"

Jackson didn't respond feeling the weight of Jones's words, his chest heaved and sweat formed across his forehead.

Jones's anger died down as he realized what he said and humbled himself. "I'm sorry, Jackson... "He spoke between gasps of breath. "it's just.... emotions are high... and this sudden stress... it's just..."
