Waking up was not the most pleasant thing in my room. The light was shining in my eyes through the window, lighting up everything in my room. It was a pretty average morning. 25 degrees out, sun with cloud. The usual you know? I tried to keep my eyes open but it was difficult when you got 2 hours of sleep daily. I tossed my blanket on the ground and got out of bed. "Just another boring day" I muttered to myself as I stared at the dresser in front of me. It was always the same. Wake up, Go to school, Go home, eat, and sleep then wake up again. As per usual I struggled to pick out an outfit. I picked up a blue tank top, a black sweater and jeans. Not pretty surprising as I usually wear something simple. I slightly jumped back as I heard my mom call out to me. "Kass! Come downstairs, I made your favourite!" I knew exactly what it was. Literally just pancakes with syrup. Basic. I mean I guess I call everything basic at this point. I ran down the stairs quickly. I didn't even have time to get ready. It was either I get ready or I actually eat before school. If I did both, I'd be late considering the amount of traffic on the roads this morning. I pulled out the wooden chair and sat down. "Good morning Mum." I said with a low voice. I guess my voice was quiet since I only spoke a few words today. "Morning Kassy. How did you sleep" she asked me with a bright smile on her face. That was my mother, always cheerful. I don't think I have ever seen her upset. I admire her attitude. At my school almost everyone is negative. I guess her positivity affected me as the next moment i didnt even notice the smile forming on my face. "It was alright but Roxy kept waking me up" My Mum laughed as i complained about Roxy every morning. Roxy was my dog, we got her from a shelter when she was only 6 months old, she was a golden retriever. She usually woke me up by jumping on my bed during the night. "Not surprised-" Just before my mom could finish her sentence she noticed the time. "Kass, you're gonna be late!". As soon as i heard those words i rushed with my things to my moms car. She turned on the radio and started driving. The radio was playing "Roar" by Katy Perry. She had quite popular songs at the time. I leaned my head against the window as the weather progressively got worse. I saw dark clouds forming in the sky. I looked at my shoes as I thought about how bad the weather would be today. Atleast I didnt have to walk like my friends had to. As we arrived I got out of the backseat slamming the door. I walked to the front gate when I saw my friends June and Leah. I could tell they were talking but I wasn't sure what it was about. I walked over to them attempting to overhear what they were saying. As I assumed , I still couldn't hear a thing. I looked over at them once again wondering what was so secretive. It felt odd as it wasnt likely for them to do this. "Hey guys." I said to them, June looked over at me as Leah walked away seeming quite annoyed with me. I didn't understand what i've done. June looked at me with curiosity. "Kassy why's Leah upset with you?" That was something I wondered. "Maybe she's just in a bad mood today," I said to him. June had been my best friend for a few years now. We went to the same elementary school. I walked away from June and headed to history. We were learning about the history of Texas. It was pretty stereotyped along with a few other states like New York. I felt like falling asleep however I knew we would have to pay attention due to our history teacher bombing us with tests. I felt quite annoyed knowing that everyday I usually had to study for another test considering it was annoying. I had basically no free time. Shortly after all my classes ended I headed to the cafeteria and sat down with June and Leah once again. "Hey June, Hey Leah, what's up?" I said, attempting to be louder than the other students in the cafe. It was always quite loud here which is why I preferred to be outside while eating. It was much more peaceful and a nice place to think about things. "Nothing really, classes sucked." June replied before biting into his sandwich. Leah on the other hand didn't answer and played with her food, mixing it until it looked horrible. "Hey Leah. Why aren't you saying anything today? Are you alright?" I asked with a reassuring look on my face, attempting to let her know I'd be there for her. "Mhm. Just not a good day." she said with a rather upset voice. I figured something must have been going on with her. I put my head up a little higher and began speaking "Anyone know Melodie? She's been annoying lately." Leah looked at me with a smile which seemed sarcastic. "I know her." she replied. June nodded in response, he started speaking with a tone of annoyance "I hate her to death, she thinks she owns the school." Leah started doing her sarcastic smile once again. I felt uncomfortable. June scared me as I was lost in thought "The bell's gonna ring soon, Kass. Come on" he said sweetly. I hadn't noticed Leah already left. Her leaving was hurtful as she didn't bother to say goodbye.
