The city was cloaked in a blanket of rain, each drop a tiny dagger against the window of their small apartment. Inside, the atmosphere was no less turbulent. The air was thick with unspoken words and unresolved tension.

Wonbin sat on the couch, his eyes fixed on a photograph of happier times. In the picture, he, Anton, and Sungchan were laughing, arms slung around each other’s shoulders. It seemed like a lifetime ago.

Anton paced the room, his frustration palpable. "I can't believe you did this, Wonbin," he said, his voice breaking the silence like a whip. "You promised us."

Wonbin tore his gaze from the photo, his expression pained. "I didn't have a choice, Anton. You know that."

Sungchan stood by the window, looking out at the rain, his face a mask of sorrow. He had always been the peacekeeper, but this time he felt powerless. "We always have a choice, Wonbin," he murmured, his voice barely audible over the sound of the rain. "You chose to keep us in the dark."

"It wasn't about keeping you in the dark," Wonbin protested. "I was trying to protect you."

Anton stopped pacing, turning to face Wonbin with eyes blazing with anger and betrayal. "Protect us from what? We’re supposed to be in this together. How can we trust you if you keep secrets?"

Wonbin's shoulders sagged under the weight of his boyfriends' accusations. "I'm sorry," he said, his voice thick with regret. "I thought I was doing the right thing."

Sungchan finally turned away from the window, his expression softening as he looked at Wonbin. "We know you meant well, but we’re stronger together. Whatever it is, we can face it if we stand as one."

Wonbin nodded, the fight draining out of him. He knew they were right. He had let his fear drive a wedge between them, and now he had to find a way to repair the damage.

"I messed up," he admitted, his voice barely above a whisper. "I was scared, and I didn't know how to handle it. But I need you guys. I can't do this alone."

Anton’s anger ebbed, replaced by a deep weariness. He walked over to Wonbin, placing a hand on his shoulder. "We're here, Wonbin. We always have been. Just... don’t shut us out again."

Sungchan joined them, a small, hopeful smile on his face. "We’ll get through this. Together."

The three of them stood there in the dim light of the apartment, the rain continuing its relentless assault outside. Inside, however, there was a glimmer of hope. Their bond, though strained, was not broken. They had each other, and that was enough.

For now.

Hours passed as the rain drummed its persistent rhythm against the window. The three friends sat in a circle on the floor, a bottle of whiskey between them. Each sip burned, but it was a welcome distraction from the turmoil inside.

Anton broke the silence first, his voice raw. "We’ve been through so much already. I don’t want this to tear us apart."

Wonbin looked up, his eyes glistening with unshed tears. "I know. I’ve been so stupid. I thought I was protecting you from my problems, but all I did was push you away."

Sungchan reached over, gripping Wonbin’s hand tightly. "We’re a team. If you’re hurting, we all hurt. If you’re in trouble, we face it together."

Wonbin’s grip tightened around Sungchan’s hand, drawing strength from the contact. "There’s something I haven’t told you both," he began, his voice shaking. "I got into some serious debt. I was trying to handle it on my own, but it spiraled out of control."

Anton’s jaw clenched, but he forced himself to stay calm. "How much do you owe?"

"More than we can afford," Wonbin admitted. "I was afraid that if I told you, you’d hate me for getting us into this mess."

Sungchan’s expression softened, his heart aching for his boyfriend. "We could never hate you, Wonbin. We just wish you had trusted us enough to share this burden."

Anton nodded in agreement, the last remnants of his anger dissipating. "We’ll figure this out. We’ll find a way to help you, no matter what it takes."

Wonbin’s eyes filled with tears, and he finally let them fall. For the first time in months, he felt a flicker of hope. "Thank you," he whispered. "I don’t deserve boyfriends like you."

Sungchan pulled both of them into a tight embrace, the weight of their troubles momentarily lifted by the strength of their bond. "We’re partners. " he said firmly. "And partners never gives up on each other."

As the storm raged on outside, the three of them sat together, drawing comfort from each other’s presence. The road ahead would be difficult, but they knew they could face it as long as they stayed united. In the darkest moments, they found solace in their relationship, a beacon of light guiding them through the storm.
