Yo-ho... Yo-ho... A pirate's life for me... We take what we shouldn't... From far out of the sea...
How long has it been? When did we last feel happy? That must have been over 300 years ago? What year is it? No clue. None of us know. All we know is to keep sailing. To find the cure. We should have never taken what we took. What did we take again? An artifact? A life we shouldn't have? I cannot remember. Not like it would matter. Remembering doesn't bring back our glory days. The jolly roger flapping in the wind, like a symbol for death and power over the seas. Now it is just a tattered rag. Nothing special about it anymore.
I want to die. We all want to die. But we can't, we have tried. We tried hundreds of years ago and are still trying. The horrors I have witnessed... Willingly drinking acid. Seeing their stomach melt and hearing him screaming in pain but still living. Seeing someone cut their stomach and watching as their guts fall out of their body. The rats were feasting on them... but he still lived. Everyone slowly losing their minds as they try and try again to end it but it only made more people mad.
Decapitated heads and headless bodies everywhere, both still living and searching for their missing piece. Hands crawling around while blood soaks the deck and paints it red. This is a madhouse. We need help. The greatest rulers of the sea have been brought down to this miserable state...
The wind is eery. The fog is thick. We cannot see anything. Not like it would matter. The ship steers us across the seas on its own. We will never see land again. Our families are long dead. The world might look different now. We cannot look at the stars, for we are too tired. We have no idea where we are. We will probably never know where we are.
The treasure we had couldn't be spent. We threw it overboard. To pay for what we had done. It did not work. We tried everything. Sacrifices. Demonic rituals. Religion. Singing songs. Re-evaluating our morals and sense of self. We do not even know what evil is anymore. Are the rats evil for feasting on our undead flesh? Is God evil for doing this to us? Are we evil for defying the laws of nature? Who knows?
I will just scrub the deck like always. Keep the blood deep in the wood so we can remember what we are going through. Stack the bodies. Chop them up. Eat them. The only way to make a part of us disappear. Digestion. But it hurts. So much. It is agony. Should I sing a song? To lighten the mood? I suppose it would not hurt... Let us see if I can still sing while missing half of my head and having a rat live in my stomach.
Yo-ho... Yo-ho... A pirate's life for me... We take what we shouldn't... From far out of the sea...
