"Yeah." She rubbed soap over his shoulders. "I don't feel right about it."

"I don't see a problem, if you wanted to." Mephisto rested his chin on her forehead. "You know I'm a demon, and I can't give you the love you crave."

"What is love anyway?" Shura sighed. "Devotion? Lust? Dependability? Romance?"

Mephisto shrugged his shoulders.

"I dunno."

"Well..." She wrapped her arms around his waist. "You provide all of those things. I don't need to find it elsewhere."

"What if I told you I could see a bright future if I expanded your capacity to love?"

"Where are you going with this?"

"What if I needed another child to be born, to save the future?"

"Mephisto....what have you seen?" Shura pulled away from him. "Are you telling me I have a kid with Yukio?"

"I don't know for sure." He admitted. "But if you did, the child would be special. It would finish the watermelon game I'm working on."

"Because you're building the next Grigori." Shura splashed water in his face. "To take the place of the current one. You're a weird sicko, Mephisto."

"Shemihaza is pregnant with her first child." He shrugged his shoulders. "So, all we need now is an Armumahel child. Remember, Shura, family is important. Our family keeps the world safe. You and Yukio would be a good match. Royalty needs to keep its lineage intact."

"He will not agree to this." She paused, thinking. "This game of succession, you've arranged. You wanted him to come back here; he's another chess piece in your game."

"Yukio isn't the lad you remember." Mephisto reasoned. "All I'm saying is if it happens,  I wouldn't worry about it. I won't be upset, as long as you come home to me."

"Yukio would never allow that." Shura pointed a finger angrily in his face. "He'd take me away from you! He wants something real!!"

Shura grumpily turned off the shower and whipped open the curtain. She stomped out, searching for a towel.

"I'm still all soapy!" Mephisto whined. "That's not nice!"

"Tough." She dried herself off. "I was hoping you'd reassure me, and you didn't. You permitted me to fuck around like a typical demon would."

Mephisto grudgingly turned the water back on, with a long and aggrieved sigh.

"If I said no," He replied. "I'm only limiting myself, and I can't be a hypocrite."

"Speaking of that." Shura shrugged into a robe. "Did you have fun with Eve while I was gone?"

"Eve? Nooooo." He whimpered, "It was so unfair! She denied me!!!"

Shura broke out into mocking laughter.

"Serves ya right. You schemer!"

"Honestly, I don't understand her reaction!"

"Well, in her defence, you locked Amaimon in a cage. That would spoil the mood for sure."

"But I lock Amaimon in cages all the time!" He answered haughtily. "Why are humans so sensitive?"

"Yeah, well," She checked her text messages with an absent-minded scroll of a finger. "I got up close and personal with your ex-wife. The demoness that happens to be our latest threat, and she kept asking for your whereabouts."

"I apologize, she is a dreadful beast." Mephisto seemed contrite. "We are no longer compatible."

"But you were once."
