The air sizzled with tension. She grinned menacingly, waiting for your answer. Everyone gazed at you, some whispering and even giggling.
"Still as blind as a bat, huh?" Your best friend sneered. At this point, she wasn't even your friend anymore. She was a nasty snake who liked to trap you to corners.
Fed up with her act, you clenched your hands. "The bat? You mean the one your dad used to hit you with?" Success. You hit a nerve.
Her sneer faltered for a split second before she regained her composure. "At least my dad knew how to discipline me, unlike your parents who let you run wild."
You shook your head, smiling bitterly. "Oh girl, there's a fine line between discipline and abuse."
She stepped towards you, boiling hotter than soup. "You have no right to bring up my childhood."
You stepped forward. "And you have no right to treat me horribly."
