"Ohmigosh, hi! My name is Charlie, and I run the hotel! I see you've met our host, Alastor!" She runs up to you, getting right in your face. Her bright, sparkly eyes made you smile, however the tall man in the red suit sticks his staff between the two of you. "Now, Charlie, don't scare her away... She just got here." He glances at you before putting a hand on your shoulder. Charlie flicks between you and Alastor, followed by staring at you with her big eyes, awaiting an answer. Before you speak, you look at Alastor. He cocks his head to the side slightly, narrowing his gaze while staring into yours with a hellish look in his eye. "U-um, yeah, I don't really know where I am yet." You stammer, looking back at Charlie, whose cheery demeanor is quite different from the sinister, yet handsome demon across from her. "Well that's great! Uh, well, not really, but it's great you're here! At the hotel!" She walks backwards, revealing a shorter girl behind her with long white hair. She does not look happy. Her arms are crossed and she's got an X over one of her eyes. She squints when your focus meets hers. she was already staring at you. "This is Vaggie!" the cheery blonde girl says. Vaggie doesn't respond. Instead, she keeps her eye locked onto yours with the same cold, macabre look. Charlie follows up by explaining that this ghostly girl is her girlfriend. She goes on to explain what she's working for and why. You think that it's a good idea, but how she describes angels seems scary to you. Before explaining further, she pauses.
"Oh, yeah. I forgot to add, the angels come down once a year to... um, come..." She hesitates. "Exterminate us." Your eyes widen in shock. "What do you mean, exterminate?" You say. You wonder if this is all a lie and if you're just taking a really bad trip on hospital drugs right now. An ominous voice joins the conversation. "They exterminate us because hell is overpopulated," You look over to see who the voice belongs to. With the same melancholy look, it's Charlie's weirdo girlfriend. "They have to make sure we don't uprise. You'll probably be fine." Probably?! You think to yourself. Also in church with Grandma, angels were explained as holy beings who would never even dare to think about hurting another soul. What the fuck is this place? "But, um, it's okay! The extermination just happened, so we have a year to prepare!" Charlie said reassuringly. No matter how much she tried, however, you couldn't stop your mind from racing. "Wait, so you're telling me I'm going to die? AGAIN?" The familiar rage from before was bubbling in your chest. "We-well, not now, but um.. Maybe?" She suddenly took a deep breath, faced you, and took your hands in hers. The gesture took you by complete surprise. "Look," She started. "While you're staying at the hotel, I will try my absolute best to keep you safe." She gave you an encouraging smile. What she said made you feel much better about staying in this cheap place.
"She's right, you know," Someone chimed in. The voice had a rich, strong new jersey accent. You looked to your right to get a better look at the person speaking. You are faced with a tall, lanky, pale pink demon. He had an extra set of arms that sprouted from his waist, a very large tuft of hair on the top of his head, and had two different colored eyes. He wore a white and pink blazer paired with long thigh high boots. "It's not as bad as you think." The tall, lanky demon smiled at you, flashing a golden crown on one of his sharp front teeth. "Oh yeah, I haven't introduced myself to new-girl over here..." The tone in his voice made you squint. The spider demon uncrossed his legs swiftly, pushed himself up, and swayed over to you while swinging his skinny hips left and right. He stopped about a foot away from you and held out one of his four hands. "The name's Angel Dust." He cooed. You took his hand and he gave it a light shake. "You're gonna see my name a lot around here," He said. It sounded like he was trying to make himself look better than every other person in this flashy hotel. "Get used to it, sweetheart." He shot you a snobby smirk, which made you roll your eyes. "Great! Angel, thank you for introducing yourself! Now, Y/n... let me show you around our hotel!"
She brought you over to the tealish-grey colored wall, making the bar. "This is Husk! He's our lovely bartender." Charlie giggles, putting her hand out to introduce you to the cuddly, cute, cat-like bartender across the bar. "Great, now I have to deal with more of these fuckers." Despite his cute, fuzzy demeanor, Husk is not quite the person you expected. His voice is deep and gravely, he has giant bags under his eyes, and he's got wings. He furrows his brows, looking at you with annoyance. "Um, anyway," Charlie chimes, breaking the awkward silence with her bright, cheery voice. "I'll introduce you to our maid, Niffty!" behind the bar, a very small girl with bright red hair appears. She is quickly sweeping the floor. "Niffty, I want you to meet Y/n!" The small girl looks up at charlie. She only has one large, yellow, veiny eye. It creeps you out. "Hello," The girl exclaims. She suddenly grabs onto your leg and crawls up your body like some sort of spider. "I clean." Niffty flashes you a wide smile, while somehow widening her eye, revealing more veins. "Oh, uh, cool..." You say, cringing at the very strange cyclops girl in front of you. Still staring creepily into your eyes, she crawls off of your body and starts chasing around a bug with a needle. "That's Niffty!" Charlie says, clearly embarrassed. "Let me show you to your room." She takes your hand and leads you to the large staircase in the middle of the lobby. The handrails and sides on the staircase were gold, and when met with your hand, it was cold to the touch. "So, do you remember how you died yet?" Charlie asks with a friendly look on her face. "Uh, yeah, I do." You say sheepishly, anxious about what she will think. The sympathetic look that she keeps on her face softens the blow. "I shot myself." You murmur. The soft, kind expression turns into empathy and worry. "Why'd you do that?" She asks leniently. You open your mouth to speak, but you couldn't seem to remember anymore. "I..." You start, stopping at the top step of the stairs. Charlie stops with you. "I don't remember." You scratch your head. You look up at Charlie, who has a kind, loving smile on her face. "That's alright," She says. "I'm sure it'll come back to you eventually." She holds her hand out for you to take it once more, and you place your hand in hers. You both continue the conversation, and Charlie tells you about how she's lived in hell her entire life, and she wants to start making a change. You find out that her father is the king of hell, Lucifer himself. This takes you by surprise, as you didn't expect to meet someone so special so soon. You eventually get to the room you will stay in, and Charlie opens the door.
"Well, here we are! Home sweet new-home!" She giggles. "I'll give you time to get yourself situated." She shot you one last friendly smile before closing your door and leaving you with your thoughts. You fall back onto your new bed, secretly hoping that this was all some super freaky trip-dream. Curling up in the middle of your bed, you let out a long sigh before closing your eyes, trying your best to fall asleep.
