The old man was still extremely shocked by Cale rescuing him as he lifted his head to look at Cale without saying a word.
"Should I take you home? Ah, also, do you know any inns here, old man?"
"N, no, I am okay...."
Although delayed, the old man responded back to Cale, slight shock was evident in his voice. Cale stared at the old man. The slight shaking pupils of the old man slowly relaxed as his tense facial expression slowly started to relax as well.
" My place is an Inn."
"Oh, you're an Inn keeper?"
Cale's eyes showed pleasant surprise. What luck this was. He had original thought that he would need to sleep in the woods.
"Yes, sir. It is this village's only inn. It has a bar and a restaurant as well."
"Since it is the only inn, that must be the best place."
"Hoho... It could barely pass off as that..Ah."
"Old man?"
Walking with the old man on Grace, Cale looked up at the old man that made a sudden 'Ah', noise.
"There are some other young lads staying at my Inn as well."
"....I see. Business must be good since it is the only Inn."
"Haha..."
Cale had a bad feeling when he heard the old man say there were other people staying. It was weird.
"Old man, Could you tell me about these other people? I don't quite know how to interact with people so I am afraid I might offend them."
"Oho, I see! Well lad, there are three of the! One of them looks like a foreigner and has black hair and eyes. The other two accompanying him are father and son. Although the three travel together, it don't seem like they get along well..."
Cale stiffened as he listens to the old man describing the other people staying at his Inn. Definitely, most definitely, it's them.
" I see... Sounds like lively. "
" Haha, sure is! "
Seeing as how the old man was so cheery, Cale didn't bother saying anything while Grace side-eyes him and shakes her head.
"Ah, lad, we have arrived. This is my Inn."
"I see."
The exterior of the Inn looked as rustic as the village, but it had everything you would need, probably because the merchants visiting the Henituse territory stayed at this inn on their travels.
It's decent, Cale would say. He wasn't particularly picky or choosy about where he stayed, after all, he did live on a battlefield.
A faint and nostalgic smile stretched as a bright yet gloomy aura surrounded him.
-Ah.
Grace nudged his face a bit and pulled him out of the rueful thoughts he almost buried himself in again.
"Haha, thanks. Old man, I'll take you down now."
"Yes, yes, thank you..."
As Cale helped the old man get down from Grace, he flinched a step back when the old man bowed deeply to him.
"Old man? What's wrong? Why are you bowing?"
"Huhu... I forgot to say my thanks for saving me earlier... Lad, thank you for saving me."
