A mysterious contract

Part 22 - New objective

Lowell : <One moment please, ... done. I send you the report, good hunt, Miriel.>

Miriel : <Thank you.>

Diana : <I will go, good luck everyone.>

Harold : <Me too, don't die out there.>

I will stay here to see how Miriel will fare against these Raptures.

Soon enough, I hear the sound of multiple aircrafts coming closer. She is going in hard, well I should have fun watching this. Then I see a lot of missiles going on the Raptures and exploding, next is the fast advance of Miriel's team and the others teams to kill the Raptures that was still alive from the airstrikes.

Lowell : <Everyone, what is your status?>

Miriel : <White team in position, commencing extermination.>

Red team leader : <Red team in position, encountering resistance.>

Blue team leader : <Blue team in position, no enemy detected, providing support to red team.>

Lowell : <Eliminate them all, I will watch over if any reinforcements is coming.

All : <Understood.>

The noise made by them have attracted the remaining Raptures who are going at full speed on their location. I see from afar that there are a lot of gunfire inside the fortress and the outskirts, all of them are fighting against the Raptures head-on to kill them as quickly as possible. After a while, the sound of gunfire is weaker than before, I will contact them to see the situation.

Lowell : <Miriel and the others, what is your situation?>

Miriel : <Almost done with the extermination, no wounded on my team.  The Raptures are weaker than I expected.>

Red team leader : <No movement detected, we got them all.>

Blue team leader : <Same for me, there's nothing here anymore.>

Lowell : <Well, there were the weakest of them, a Lord or a Heretic is stronger than them. Anyway, you can... Wait a minute...>

I see some dusts coming closer to Miriel. It seems the Raptures are back for round 2, and on differents directions too.

Lowell : <I see movements in the north, probably a horde of Raptures with a Lord leading it. ETA 3 minutes. Do you need me to call some reinforcements?>

Miriel : <No need, we'll take care of this, just watch how we are taking care of this.>

After a moment, I see a horde of Raptures in front of Miriel's team and the one who is leading it is... Chatterbox. There is two other horde, one is going to blue team and the other to red team.

Lowell : <Miriel, can you do me a favor? Destroy him, blast him away until there's nothing left of him.>

Miriel : <Shouldn't we capture it?>

Lowell : <I don't want to see his face, he is ugly as hell, you will a great service to me if you erase it from existence.>

Miriel : <... I will see what I can do.>

Red team leader : <We will join you as soon as we take care of them.>

Blue team leader : <Good luck, white team.>

After this, Chatterbox and his Raptures starts fighting against Miriel's team. The battle was even at first with both sides shooting at each other until Miriel has done warming up and starts to do some close combat against Chatterbox. He was quite surprised by her going into hand to hand combat until she starts beating the shit out of him. He tried to hit her with his arms and shoots at her with his missiles but she graciously evaded them all. Chatterbox seems to be speaking something to Miriel before running away, he is very good at fleeing this bastard.

Miriel : <Mission accomplished, patrolling the area until the construction team is coming.>

Red team leader : <Seems like our help aren't needed... Guarding the coastal area.>

Blue team leader : <Holding the fortress, too old to my likings. When the construction team is coming? This place could use some renovation.>

Lowell : <The construction should arrive in five minutes, so stay alert.>

Miriel : <Understood.>

Lowell : <... I see that he was talking to you, what did Chatterbox said to you?>

Miriel : <... Go to the private channel.>

I change my channel to speak privately to Miriel.

Lowell : <It was that bad that you need to talk to me like this?>

Miriel : <... He manages to find out that we aren't from the Ark.>

Lowell : <... I will mention this to Xiao. Anything else?>

Miriel : <Chatterbox has mentioned another place named "Eden" . I didn't get more info from the target.>

Lowell : <Hmm... Perhaps the Nikke you have shot down was from Eden. >

Miriel : <No matter what, we will get answers soon enough.>

Lowell : <I will notify Xiao about the sucess the operation.>

I change my channel to the operation channel.

Lowell : <Captain Xiao, the mission is a sucess, we are now in control of the fortress. The construction will commence soon the renovation.>

Xiao : <Good, anything else?>

Lowell : <However we have encountered Chatterbox who told us about a place called "Eden" . What is your orders?>

Xiao : <... Nothing for now, we will act after our new HQ is built. Stay here and watch over for any enemy.>

Lowell : <Understood.>

I look towards the fortress who will become our HQ in this world. I hear the sounds of helicopters passing above me and heading towards it. I'm definitely sure that will not go unoticed.

*Bip* *Bip* *Bip*

An alarm on my earpiece, someone is in trouble.

Lowell : <Who is this?>

William : <William! We need help! We are surrounded by Raptures!>

Lowell : <What?! Hang on! I will send help to you, hold tight!>

William : <Thank you! I send you my coordinates, we'll try to hold on as much as we can!>

He hang up.

Lowell : <Captain Xiao, I recieve a distress call from William, can we send help to him?>

Xiao : <Approved. I will send Sonate and her Raptures to help him, she is five minutes away from them. He and his squad are very precious to us, they must not die.>

Lowell : Thank you, I will notify him immediately, Captain Xiao.>

William, please stay alive.

Lowell : <William, help is on the way. ETA : five minutes.>

William : <Understood.>
