A mysterious contract

Part 5 - Conflict and uneasy

We stopped in a building on the 5th floor. There is a very big hole here where there is supposed to be windows, at least I have a spendid on the scenery. I see it for a while before they all stop suddenly. I sigh, knowing what will comes next...

Anis : So who are you really 'Commander' ?

Lowell : I'm Lowell. I'm 21 years old.

Anis : Yeah I know that and I didn't ask for your age. Just what are you doing here?

Lowell : I don't know. I just woke up near Marian, she saved my life and she appointed me as a Commander.

Rapi : Is this true Marian?

Marian : Yes, everything the Commander said is the truth.

Anis : Still to not be in the Ark databases is very suspicious in itself.

Lowell : I'm just acting as a Commander until we found the Commander of Marian.

Anis : What?! He is not dead after a crash like this?!

Marian : We didn't see any body of my former Commander.

Rapi : Commander, would you allow us to conduct a inspection on your weapon and your robot to confirm you're not a threat to the Ark.

Lowell : ... Sure, you can do it.

Anis takes my weapon to inspect them and Rapi inspects my robot and its contents. Meanwhile I'm sitting against a wall waiting for them to finish. Marian is staying with me seating and leaning on my shoulder.

Marian : Don't worry, Commander. I know you're innocent. I will always be with you.

Lowell : Thank you Marian. I promise you to find your Commander.

Waiting is boring and I can't contact my team with them around. I wonder what they are doing now, oh well... I will close my eyes for a while. After some time, Rapi and Anis approached me , I get up wondering about what they have to say.

Rapi : Nothing strange discovered on the robot except for a large amount of samples from Raptures. What will these samples used for Commander?

Lowell : They will be used for research purposes and if you're wondering if these will be used for a offensive or defensive purpose I don't know...  I can suppose it will be both however i assure you it will not be a menace to the Ark.

Rapi : ... Understood Commander.

Anis : Okay... For the weapon, 'Commander', where did you get it? There seems very powerful and it isn't registered into the Ark.

I don't want them to the truth but I can't let them be more wary of me. I must make a compromise here. How to say this...

Lowell : This is a prototype that was gifted to me as i said before, and I'm testing it against the Raptures...

Rapi : ...

Anis : ...

Lowell : ... Is that all?

Anis : Yes for me and you Rapi?

Rapi : One last thing. What is inside the box you're carrying?

Lowell : ... I'm not answering this question.

A heavy silence have fall on us, I felt very tense about Rapi on her interest in my box. This could have gone for a while but Marian places herself between me and Rapi.

Marian : Rapi, the Commander has complied with your request to inspect him, so let's him get some privacy.

Rapi : ... Understood.
