A mysterious contract

Part 22 - New objective

William : Wait?! You were part of the WPO?!

Lowell : Yes, in the military section. As I was saying, when we got there... We saw... let's just say a lot of blood were spilled that day.

William : Let me guess, a terrorist group attacked innocent people with a new kind of weapon?

Lowell : I would prefer it was that way... *sigh* I can't tell the details but I can tell these persons aren't from our world and... considered us like prey. After some time, we managed to kill and capture all of them, we were very eager to interrogate them and all of theirs items have been confiscated.

William : ... After this, what happened next?

Lowell : I sent a report mentioning the damages done by them and the link between our world and them still active. I received a order to guard the sector until further orders, after some days where we were quite alert for the first days, we were quite bored by the inaction. Then we saw a enormous amount of troops coming to us and a representant of the WPO was coming to see me.

William : What did this representant told you?

Lowell : He told I was now the general of this newly formed army and he gave me a very direct order without any kind of mistakes of doubt in his voice.

William : What was the order?

Lowell : ... "Exterminate this world. No survivors must remain."

*Flashback end*

Now that I am good to go, I will meet up with William. I wonder what he and Counters have found on this bullet. I arrive at The Outpost and make my way to the Command Center, then I heard some dicussion.

Neon : Master, how are you holding up?

William : Fit as a fiddle.

Good to hear, William have fully recovered from his injuries.

Anis : Ok, then I'll geet straght to it. Well... to be perfectly honest, thins aren't looking good. I did snooping around the past month, and didn't turn up anything useful.

Neon : I couldn't find out what's inside this bullet that Pilgrim gave you. It's not some kind of substance that's not registered in the database. I tried asking around in the Outer Rim, but couldn't turn up anything. Exia also said that the substance database has apparently been expunged. So, one thing, maybe the Only thing, we know so far is that the Central Government is good at covering their tracks.

So the Central Government doesn't want his secrets to be found, I should mention this to Yujin when I have the time, she would be entertained at least.

Anis : The Heretic is a dead end as well. There are next to no records on them. Just rumors that read more like urban legends. Nothing reliable. We aren't sure how this 'Marian' existed, she looks just like the one we have right not but we are sure she cannot have a brain.

Marian : I don't know why she looks like me but at the end, I saw myself in her.

Anis : We may be able to turn up something if we can get ourselves into the Central Government library...

Rapi : ... But there's one small problem. The Central Government keeps that place under lock and key. It doesn't matter if we're Special Commandos, they'll never let us in there.

Anis : What do we do? Everywhere we turn, we're being blocked by the Central Government.

Rapi : How about asking Deputy Chief Andersen for help?

Anis : I don't trust that man. We still aren't sure what his aim is. All he's done so far is toss around orders. He hasn't done anything to actually help us.
