"You look like you got hit by a truck." Instead of responding, I hold out my middle finger, making Jamie laugh.
"Where's Grayson?"
"He went to get the mystery girl," he wiggles his eyebrows.
"Why can't we just let the poor girl live in peace and just read the will?"
"I agree," he says, following me into the dining room.
"You look great," Xander grins at me as soon as me and Jamie walk in.
"Leave me alone Alexander."
"Hungover?" Nash smiles knowingly.
"Of course not," I glance at Mr. Laughlin, making my brothers crack up.
"We were young once too Hudson," Mrs. Laughlin smiles while placing my food in front of me.
"Thank you," I smile. Hearing foot steps approaching, I look up to see Zara and her little bitch coming over. "Where's mom?"
"Who cares," Zara mutters. Ignoring her, Jameson turns to me.
"She went to go grab something." Just as I nod in response my mom walks into the dinning room. We eat in silence for a little bit before Nash breaks it.
"Any plans on going to school today for you two?" He looks at my brothers.
"Nope," Jamie grins.
"Yes, we're going to school," Xander says ignoring Jamie's response.
"Wanna hang out today?" I ask, directing my question to Nash.
"Yeah, I'm getting a new bike today. You could come with me."
"I meant something more along the lines of shopping."
"I would, but I have to get my bike. Sorry kid."
"Hudson, you're slouching," my mom says to me. I groan taking my feet off my chair and sit up straight. "I'm just saying, men don't like girls who slouch."
"I don't care what men think, mother," I sigh. "And I have a man, I don't need another one."
"You can barely call the guy a man," Jameson groans. "Actually you can't call him a man at all," he rolls his eyes.
"Why don't you go shopping with him?" Xander raises his eyebrows.
"Maybe, I just wanted to hang out with my brothers," I say, sarcastically.
"Or maybe you're coming to your senses about him," Jamie counters. Ignoring him, I turn to the other side of the table.
"Zara, mom, one of you want to go shopping with me?"
"I have a spa day today," my mom says. I look at my aunt and pout.
"Please Z."
"Fine," she rolls her eyes. I blow her a kiss as she tries not to smile. Zara's husband looks up at me, opening his mouth to say something. Before he can, Jamie's phone starts ringing, thankfully.
"No phones at the dinner table Jameson," my mom says sarcastically.
"Good thing we're having breakfast," he says before answering it. "Hey," he grins. "I'm good, you?" "Gray went to go get the mystery girl we were telling you about." "I'll bet you 30 bucks she won't." "I just know bro." "Okay bye," he smiles, hanging up.
"Matt?" I ask making Jamie nod.
"The cute one?" My mom smirks.
"Mom. Stop being creepy," I sigh just as Oren walks in.
"You two ready for school? I can take you since I'm already here," He directs to Jameson and Xander.
"Yup," Xander says, both of them getting up.
"You coming?" Oren looks over at me, smiling.
"You know me too well," I grin, standing up. I grab mine, Jamie, and xanders plates, taking them to the sink. I walk back into the dinning room.
"Thank you for breakfast," I say while hugging Mrs.Laughlin and then Mr.Laughlin. I kiss Nash on the cheek before going over to Zara. "I'll see you in a bit," I say after I give her a kiss on the cheek aswell. I go over to my mom and hug her, reluctantly.
"You smell like alcohol," she mumbles, while patting my back to make me let go. I look up to see Jameson waiting for me with his backpack and uniform on. I follow him outside as he turns to me.
"So what's up with Benson?" He asks, walking backwards.
"Nothing is up Jamie and quit calling him that."
"Then why do you get serious when he gets brought up."
"What the hell does that mean."
"Like you straighten your back and stop smiling. Is he being a dickhead?"
"No Jameson. Walk normally," I say, speeding up to pass him so I can get the front seat. I open the door and he pulls my hood down.
"The old man would totally kill you if he saw you wearing a hoodie and sweatpants in public."
"Well he's not here anymore is he?" I say making Oren sigh, looking at me. "Too soon? Sorry."
Oren starts to drive towards the gate, which is surrounded by hundreds of people with their cameras out. I take out my low messy bun and run my fingers through my hair, straightening it.
"Is my middle part centered," I turn to Xander.
"The windows are tinted loser," Jameson laughs leaning back, into his seat.
"The windshield isn't," I mumble, looking down as Xander adjusts my hair part.
"Hudson put on your seatbelt," Oren says. I sigh dramatically and turn around. I fasten my seatbelt just as the gate opens and the people part. I take my phone out of my hoodie pocket and connect to the car Bluetooth.
"Can I play music?" Jamie says as soon as I open Spotify.
"No, you choose yesterday."
"Bitch," he whispers.
"Fuck you," I say holding out my middle finger out to him. Rolling my eyes, I look back down at my phones and hit shuffle. I squeal as Cardigan by Taylor Swift starts to play.
"Not this emo shit," Jameson groans, throwing his head back.
"This album is art Jamie."
"If you're depressed just say that," he mumbles.
When you are young they assume you know nothing. But I knew you. Dancing in your Levi's, drunk under a streetlight, I.
"What'd you find on the girl," Xander looks at me through the mirror.
"What?"
"I know you went stalker mode on her. So, what did you find?"
"You first."
"For one, she's our age. She's a junior and lives in Connecticut. She has an older half sister and her mom is dead. Her dad's a dead beat who lives in Michigan and she's single."
"Her middle name is Kylie, she's brunette and very pretty, her best friend's name is max and she met 50 cent in September," I counter.
"Touché."
"She met 50 cent in September? Why do you know that?"
"I have my ways James."
"Don't call me James, Huddie."
