•CHAPTER TWO | WE MOVED IN•

Start from the beginning

Sa-Rang nodded vigorously, her laughter spilling over. "Right? I can just picture them, sitting around, completely oblivious while the rest of us are practically waving flags saying, 'Hey, we live next door!' Maybe we should get them matching T-shirts or something—'Welcome to the Neighborhood, We're Not Strangers!'"

They both erupted into fits of giggles, imagining their kids walking around in those ridiculous shirts, completely clueless. "Honestly, if they put half the effort into making friends as they do into avoiding chores, they'd have a neighborhood fan club by now!" Han Yuna added, wiping a tear of laughter from her eye.

-MEANWHILE-
-HAN-LIM HIGHSCHOOL-

"Ugh— okay, let's see, we have two new students with us today—" the teacher announced, squinting at the file in his hands as if it contained the secrets of the universe. Meanwhile, the two new students stood side by side, their faces plastered with expressions that screamed, "What on earth am I doing here?" It was like they had just been dropped into a reality show they didn't audition for.

"Ohh—!! You two came from the same school!? You know each other then!?" the teacher exclaimed, his voice rising with excitement as if he had just discovered a long-lost treasure. The two students exchanged glances, their eyes wide with a mix of surprise and horror, then turned back to the teacher with awkward smiles that looked more like grimaces. It was the kind of smile that said, "Help! We're trapped!"

"Well then, you two should sit together! It'll be less awkward, right!?" the teacher beamed, completely oblivious to the fact that they were about as comfortable as a cat in a dog park. They both nodded and gave him the same forced smile again, which was starting to look like a synchronized awkwardness competition.

Once they settled at their table, the tension was thicker than a bowl of oatmeal. They had already introduced themselves, but now they were sitting there, avoiding eye contact like it was a game of dodgeball. Every time one of them glanced sideways, it was as if they were trying to avoid an imaginary laser beam.

- AFTER SCHOOL-
-KIM'S HOUSE-
-DINING ROOM-
-8:12 PM-

•notice•
This is how they were sitting:

                Ms Han  |    Taesan    |     Moka
Mr Han                                                         Mr Kim
               Roka      |  DooHee    |     Ms Kim

"No way—!!? They really didn't know!? Both of them!?" Kim Roka, Moka's 13-year-old sister, exclaimed, her eyes nearly popping out of her head like she had just seen a magician pull a rabbit out of a hat.

"Yep— even though we decided to move out together from the start, none of them asked, so we thought they already knew about it—!" Mrs. Kim chimed in with a grin that could light up a dark room, while Taesan and Moka sat side by side, silently munching on their food as if they were contestants in a 'Who Can Ignore the Drama' challenge.

"Well, I'm not shocked that our clueless daughter didn't catch on, but I actually didn't expect it from Taesan! Aren't you supposed to be the smart one!?" Mr. Kim Taemin, Moka's father, said, dramatically pointing at his daughter like a game show host revealing the wrong answer, then turning to Taesan with a raised eyebrow that could probably lift weights.

"What do you mean smart!? He might ace his exams, but when it comes to communication, he's got all the skills of a goldfish!" Mrs. Han chimed in, and they all erupted into giggles, the kind that makes you snort when you least expect it.

"But— why didn't you two ask—!?" Han Doohee, Taesan's thirteen-year-old sister, piped up, her eyes darting between the two, grabbing everyone's attention like a cat walking into a dog park.

"Maybe because they were so sad about getting separated that they couldn't even tell each other—!?" Ms. Kim suggested, and everyone looked at Taesan and Moka with eyes wide enough to rival saucers, as if they were waiting for a grand reveal on a reality show.

"Ohh My Goodness, is that what it's about!? You two are so cute—!! Don't you agree, honey—!?" Mr. Han Jihan, Moka's father, said with a cheeky grin, clearly enjoying the moment a little too much. The two looked at each other, then down, their faces turning the color of ripe tomatoes as embarrassment washed over them like a tidal wave.

"Yobeo—!! Stop teasing them, look at their faces, they're about to blow up—!!" Mrs. Han interjected, trying to put a stop to her husband's relentless teasing, only for the other couple to start giggling uncontrollably. It was like watching a comedy show unfold, with the punchlines landing perfectly every time!

* UGH—*
* i TRULY wanna die*
