AS I SAT ON THE LONG GREEN field of grass i couldn't help but stare at the horizon in front of me in awe. New York would have a lot of things, just not anything like this.

I was used to coming out during late parts of the night, but today i have made a promise to myself just to not sleep at all.

I couldn't close my eyes knowing that in just four hours this place will become a bottled up memory waiting to be reopened again.

I had planted so many seeds here it was hard to just walk away and let them grow. It was scary. A feeling I had come to know oh so-well.

The sun casted an orange glow in the sky as a light pink flourished below it. The oak trees moved gently in the wind and the wheats and long grass blew against its path.

My finger tips tickled upon the grass that moved, watching as all of the dandelions and flowers danced in sync.

"You wake up early?." He asked.

The voice should have rattled me but it didn't. Not when i knew it was him.

"I actually haven't woken at all." I look above my shoulder as his legs thump against the low grass. He had the same blanket with him that he brought last time I came down here.

It was folded in a neat pile, the thin fabric still not heavy enough to actually protect us from the icy winds of today's morning.

"I told you to get some sleep." I rolled my eyes at his words with a small smile.

"We both know you haven't slept either." His chest rises and falls with a small laugh. But the laugh felt feathery and frayed.

We both knew what was expected of me in the morning, and what would happen when the sun had finally fully risen.

In a way i think we were both too scared to mention it. Too afraid to actually say anything other than what we usually do to one another.

I was afraid of letting go, and I think Isaac was too.

He places the blanket on both of our legs, protecting us from the chilling wind and moving grass.

It was silence that followed all around us. A scary one, one not awkward but just quiet. The moving trees surrounding us absorbed the words we wanted to say.

"I got you something." He said. His hair moved against his forehead as his almond shaped eyes moved to me.

Isaac always looked so expressionless, but in this moment I finally knew the expression on his face all too well.

"If it's a restraining order I have you know-"

"Just open it." He smiles gingerly handing me the box. It weighed not much more than a pair of shoes, and a tassel of pink ribbon was gently laying above the top.

"Did you wrap it?." I ask. My eyes playfully dancing their way to his.

He scoffs looking away. "Are you kidding me?, I would never wrap anything for you- ow what the fuck!."

I throw a hard punch to his side at his sarcasm. Idiot. Our laughs harmonized as i opened the box.
My fingertips pulling at the ribbon.

The box falls open once it's loosened. Inside was a small plastic package and a book.

The plastic package had a chain and guitar pick inside. It was red and engraved on the other face of it was the word "Kota."
