I put the skeleton key into the key hole and then let the door open by it's self, I leaned in through the door way and looked into the dust coated book store, "Well, I might as well-" I was cut off with thunder clapping over my head.

I walked inside and dropped my warn out duffel bag on the ground and closed the door, I squinted as my eyes searched for the light switch, "Right, now..." I pulled out my crinkled piece of paper and tried to read it, "Next to the book case, that is next to the arch way, that is leading to the apartment and basement" I looked up, and then walked blindly over to the counter, then behind it. I felt the book case, then the felt the old paint.

The shop lit up from some light outside and I instantly saw the switch, flickinh it upwards, the light's splutter on, I looked around, "Now I guess why it was so cheap" I frowned, I walked around the counter, dragging my finger tips across it.

The dust created an thick layer on my skin, I wiped it on my baggy jeans and then looked around, it's so dusty... oh well.

I guess that just means i'll have something to do for awhile, and at least it'll keep my hands full... with dust.

I walked through the arch, carrying my duffel bag and started to walk up the stair's, they were old... and when I mean it's old, the railings were a winding, spiral of black dusty metal, the stairs were of a pale brown (covered in dust) and creak and made a 'thud' each time I stepped on one.

I got to a small platform and found another door, I put another key into it and the door opens. I searched the wall blindly and found the switch, flicked it on and found the apartment empty.

I walked into the centre of the room and then decided that I am going to camp out on the carpet floor tonight, then go to the camping shop tomorrow, buy a sleeping mat and bag, do some grocery shopping and then wait for Monday (a week from now) for some furniture I ordered.

I walked into the kitchen and notice that it was bare- only a sink, a counter top and a historic stove that i'm sure if I turned on, would blow up and kill everyone in ten block's. I walked back into the living room and then through a door- the bathroom.

A toilet, a sink and a bath/shower... at least I have a toilet I guess.

I walked out again and then into the bedroom, I walked over to the window and looked down, the street. I stepped back and examined my new bedroom, i'll either put the bed here... I walked over to the left side of the room and stood there, i'll put it here.

I then walked out and jogged down the stairs, ignoring the basement door I went to the shop door and locked it, turned the light's off and then jogged back up the stairs and into  my apartment.

I turned the light's off there too, before I laid down and put my shelf on my duffel bag and stared out of the window that the rain was pounding down on, lightening struck in the distance and then thunder clapped over me again.

I closed my eyes and waited for sleep to come, ready to start my new life out here in this 'small' town.

I ran my finger's through my hair and then noticed that my duffel bag wasn't in the living room where I left it, I walked into my bed room and found it in the centre... I must've moved it in here.

I opened the side compartment and pulled my wallet and phone out before I turned and walked back down the stair's and out onto the street. I locked the store door and then started to look for a grocery store.

~

I walked in, throwing my hood off and shook my hair out. It was a light drizzle, so i'll hopefully be fine taking some stuff back 'home'... funny to call it that, i've already spent a night there, and I already call it home.
