When my consciousness returned, I found myself into a waiting room with white walls, surrounded by a few older people either by themselves or with their children.

Mom stood in front of me, and her gaze seemed to change when she noticed me look at her.

"Felix?" Mom asked

"Yes?" I responded casually, but still afraid of the scolding I was about to get.

"Oh god, you're back!" She exclaimed with a hopeful and relieved look on her face.

"I'm back?" I muttered to myself, not really understanding what she meant by that.

Before she could elaborate, the door opened, with one of the nurses calling out the next patient. Mom nodded and pushed me to go in.

The inside of the office was generic, with white walls and a black wooden desk where the doctor sat. He was an older man, his hair growing white in some place and a bit on the sturdier side, although not excessively.

He politely greeted us in and told us to take a seat in the chairs across from his. I quietly obliged, and mom did too.

"So, what's wrong, mam?" The doctor asked her in a casual tone, waiting for mom's reason for the unexpected visit.

"You see, doctor, the situation is a bit unique. I'm not certain if anything medical is going on, but I did come here in hopes of getting a professional opinion!"

"Well, if I can help, I'll do all I can." He said, cheering her on with a smile.

She proceeded to explain the entire situation in great detail, including last night events and the recent episode, while I stood there with a stupid face, unable to add anything to the conversation. From her narration, I've also got to fill in the blanks after the black out .

Apparently, dad wanted to be present, too, but mom urged him not to and focus on work, assuring him she'll take care of bringing me to the doctor. She also mentioned calling out to me many times, but all I did was stare at her with a vacant look in my eyes for hours. Before just recently turning back to normal. It scared me, and I wasn't sure what to say or how to act.

The doctor listened attentively and tried his best to reassure my mom that everything was going to be alright. He then gave us a thorough overview of our next course of action, he was firstly going to do a MMSE (mini mental state examination) where he will be checking into the following major categories: general appearance, emotions, thoughts, cognition and judgement and insight.

Afterward, he will do a physical examination, where he would be checking my blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, and respiration to see if anything was out of the ordinary, then depending on the innitial test, he could send us to get a blood test or a CT scan to examine for any internal injuries.

As the test began, my mom left the office to give us some privacy and avoid unintentionally distracting me from the test.

"The MMSE is a quick test to assess cognitive function. It's helpful for identifying memory problems or other issues."

The doctor explained that with the goal of helping me understand the purpose of this test, he also mentioned that it would be quick and easy. And I shouldn't worry. I nodded and watched him carefully as he pulled a little notepad and a pen from one of his drawers;

"What is today's date?" The doctor finally asked

"Monday, September 1st," I responded slightly taken aback by the simplicity of the question.

"What year are we in?"

"2024"

"What season are we in?"

"Autumn," I responded, wondering if all questions were going to be this easy.

"What days is it?"

"Monday"

What month is it?" He asked while diligently noting into his little pad.

"September"

"Ok, good, you did well," he said, switching his attention between his notes and me before starting another series of questions;

Where are we right now?"

"In your office," I responded, scratching my head

"What is the name of the clinic?"

"I don't know, I just moved in the town yesterday, so I'm not sure." I said while twiddling my fingers, anxious about what else to say.

What floor are we on?"

"Ground floor"

"Ok, good job now,

He leaned towards me and spoke up

"I will be naming three unrelated objects, I want you to recall them after I tell them to you, okay?"

"Okay!" I nodded and awaited for the doctor to name the objects, he named pen, hat, and table. Pretty generic and easy to remember objects, I easily name them back to him, to which he looked pleased as he noted on his pad

"Awesome, you're doing very well. Now I'd like to ask you to count backward from 100 by sevens"

I took a second to think about it before answering him

"93, 86, 79, 72, 65, 58, 51, 44, 37, 30, 23, 16, 9, and 2"

"You're doing surprisingly well, Felix. Good job. " He then opened one of his cabinets and pulled out two items. A candle and a pen then showed them to me.

"Can you tell me what these are?"

"A candle and a pen," I said, looking between the two.

He nodded and then put them back, closing the cabinet behind him.

The next part of the test consisted of more easy questions and tasks, like folding a piece of paper and placing it on the floor or writing a sentence that contained a verb and a noun. Overall, it was not very challenging.

After everything was done, the doctor invited my mom back in to revise my assigned score. The results were great, showing no significant signs of cognitive impairment.

"Your son scored a 29 out of 30, which is within the normal range," he told my mom before facing me

"While this is a good score, Felix, I will be scheduling the physical exam for wednesday to be thorough, and we'll also
Do some blood tests and a CT scan on wednesday as well."

After leaving the doctor's office, I felt exhausted, ready to go for a nap. Mom probably noticed my condition and didn't pressure me into saying anything extra. The rest of the drive home being silent and uneventful.

The rest of the day was spent playing games on my computer and lazing around.
